N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, SOLD!!

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

I did the mods over 6 years, all used parts mostly, a part or so every year. If you got a bunch of cash just do a top swap or turbo.
When I started this I was making 20-30k a year, so I never had cash, I make 65k a year now lol. So next car when this rots out will be a rust free gp,2007-08 (cause my trans will just bolt in) and swap these mods over, I don't need a v8 I just drive it to work that's it lol.
Or just part out and get a 3.6l impala or charger or 200c, some kind of v6 with 300hp and try to leave it stock lol

The 200C is nice, I have one. Go for the AWD if you decide on it, the fuel economy suffers a little but I can't put that car sideways even when I'm trying to in the snow.

Plus the leather seats and steering wheel are that smooth, supple leather that feels like butter. Lol

Coming from a GP to an Impala, I wouldn't jump back.

Love the way these drive and are a tad bit easier to see out of.

I like the impala leather seats way better than the 6th gen gp seats, also they have more gauges and a more digital dic. That's about all I like more though, the view out the rear windshield is like half blocked by the spoiler for me lol

^true about the spoiler, but the radio is higher up which makes it great for adding a rear camera.

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

I like my impala, but I've had it so long I would like something different, even if it has the same engine and trans lol.
Blue doesn't the v6 g8 have only 250hp the newer 3.6l in the impalas are 300hp now.
One guy in the impala forums has a few Bolton's and is down to 13.7 in the qtr on street tires

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

But apparently, all the 3.6VVT cars are turds...according to the super cool 14.1 quarter mile LS4nation guys.

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

Lols, in the impala forums stock 3.6vvt are running 14.5's. and haven't heard of any engine issues as of yet.
Overkill has been making alot of Boltons for the 3.6's, not just a tuner anymore it seems

3.6 issues...ignition coils...randomly throwing out cam followers...you know...typical not fun things. And timing chain issues...don't forget those.

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

I haven't heard of many chain issues on the latest cars, the early 3.6's in the suv's like the traverse were filled with problems. Chains, burning oil, leaking oil from everywhere, intake valve gunk build up.

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

Ya there are a few guys with the newer 3.6l and getting higher in miles so far so good

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

I was starting to get concerned about all these issues with the 3.6, then I realized... Completely different manufacturer. lol The 200C really hasn't given me a single issue, other than pissing used oil all over me instead of into the drip pan... First oil change sucked. lol

I think if I was going to do anything with that car, I would feed it a snail... After somebody else tried it, of course. lol

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

Cars got another noisy wheel bearing, I'll get change it when it gets annoying enough lol.
And my transmission is leaking at the pan.. gotta change that out this weekend.
Hit 270 000km last week. Wonder if I'll make it too 300000

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

so I dont do any of the work to my car(besides oil changes) i can do the work(I think lol) and now got the tools to do it, but with 2 kids and generally dont like working on cars I get my cousin to do the work on all my vehicles.
So I started losing ALOT of trans fluid last week, like a litre in roughly 45 miles, but when I parked overnight i would get a very small leak, so i was like WTF where is it going my trans pan cant be leaking that bad or it would be all over the place, so checked the oil and rad fluid and nothing all was good.
My cousin threw out his back this weekend and so i thought ill try to change the gasket myself I know it isnt hard but can be a messy job, so drive my car on ramps, get under and I see very little trans fluid on the pan, so i start lookking around and notice ALOT oil trans fluid on the passenger side so im think greeeat its leaking at the axle or something... BUT then I see this

see those 2 loose bolts on the bell housing... well the other 2 up top were pretty much ready to fall out.
so i was loosing fluid only when the vehicle was moving...but saved some $$$(i pay my cousin) and i fixed it alllll by myself
im a big boy now!!

great story, but the picture is broken. and since I can't really see what you are talking about, I'm assuming you mean the front main area on the engine because the bellhousing is on the driver side.

Re: N/A Impala,Modded,3.69 gears, 15-60mph vid

Picture is broken? I can see it on my desktop and cell phone
Weird
No it's on the passenger side for sure, as I reached the top 2 bolts threw the passenger side wheel well
