i wouldnt doubt that it says 5.0 somewere on the block, but like i said, just looking at it u cant really tell, and at the lot i couldnt really get under it, or take the block out ya know?? either way im happy, great first car i think, Matt, the rust i was talking about its on the outside of the wheel flares, i dont think that has to much to do with the structural aspect of the car, and i already have sub frame connectors, so i should be good when i eventually get and LS1, i still need to get a stronger rear end, and work my way up
 


yes, yes i am, i also have lower control arms, and a panhard rod relocation bar, and its a 4 speed auto, but im going to have to swap that out, im pretty sure an LS1 would wreck my trans
 
Eh, the 700R4 isn't that bad.

At that point you might want to consider if you want to go for a TKO, T56M or the like.
 
well if you swap in the ls1 with an auto trans I wouldnt worry too much about your rear unless you go with a manual. An auto preloads the rear end which delivers less shock to the gears hence it can live longer, granted its in good working order to start with.

yeah the 700r4 is not a bad tranny
 
I got really good at changing 700 r4 in my van just kept breaking them. I had enough after the fourth one and sold it.
 
hmmmmm looks like i will have to do some more reasearch, i really just wanted to start fresh. like i said im planning on gradually doing this, so i want to get good, fresh stuff that would be able to put up with what i want as an end result, like right now i have the economy gear ratio, 2.83 or something like that, i would like a 3.73,
 


1st off, not a grand prix, or a pontiac, 2nd off, i just got here, i would think that the calendar would have more of the people who contribute a lot to this forum, then some joe shmoe like me
 


Its for anyone on the forum there is a chevy cobalt and freaking saab i think they will accept a camaro
