My stock 16" rims suck

The stock rims on my 01 GTP have been redone twice for rust buildup on the lips that then cause air leakage and ultimately screwed up tires.

Anyone else have these problems?

Also looking to get 17" rims and slightly wider tires, any suggestions on either, I do mostly around town driving and 80 miles of expressway driving every weekend to get to my girlfriends house, lol

my regal suffers from leaking rims too, the last owner had globed bead sealant all over the rims beads area, to the point the tire was really stuck on there, one rim would be totally flat over night, and i just replaced it with a JY stock replacement.

i took the rim off and pumped it to like 70 psi and hit it with a hose, the whole back side of the rims bead area was bubbling like mad. one other rim needs air like every 2 weeks.

so you could try the bead sealant to buy time on buying new rims i guess.

on the plus side i scraped the dead rim and got 20 bucks for it, jy rim was 50, so really 30 bucks after all was done.
