My steel wheel design :D

Well I signed up to do this steel wheel competition at my college so this is what I've modeled so far. Keep in mind that it's a steel wheel and can't be as cool as other rims...


Here is what it looks like:

Red and blue to show the back and the front of the design.

The blue is the back bone of the rim and where it gets it's strength. The red parts are welded to the lip to give the rim more "dimension" and aesthetic interest.

All modeled by me poorly in Autodesk Alias 2009.

It's not what your used to but hey it something new lol.

Any feed back is appreciated. Just don't lecture me on how this concept won't work lol.

I might.. but it's supposed to be thing lol, it's steel. I could "fake" a thicker spoke by putting chamfers on the edges. Presentation is today!
 


Had my Presentation on Friday and had individual help on Saturday with it. The guy told me they were interested in this because of the feasibility of it. They said they would like to see some Brembo Calipers and Drilled Rotors lol.

So its a steelie, with a cap that goes over top, so you can change the colour in 5 minutes or less?


And LOL at the tread designs...
 
Alright, well I got a request from the people I presented to for drilled and/or slotted rotors with some sweet calipers.

So here is the Rotor I just finished:

It's just a simple design. Next are Calipers.. mmm fun fun.

If anybody has a picture of some sweet calipers with good views, I would appreciate if you past a link or something. I gotta model those from scratch too. I'm putting slots in the rotors right now so they will look "sportier".
 


Yea Alias is part of Autodesk. It's used mainly for modeling cars and product design. Inventor was so fun, and Autocad was a pain lol. Autocad Architecture was easy too.
 
interesting. I have done alot of inventor and revit work, but one of my high school internships involved some autocad. not a big fan of autocad, but it's not bad.
