The fun has begun!!!!!

Some of the carnage from years of racing, all the sub frame bushings are collapsed and deteriorated from many oil leaks and other fluids that have taken their toll, so new ones ordered and be in tomorrow.

How the old axles look, glad I got some new ones waiting.

Getting some other items replaced and or repaired, warrantied out the old Moog tie rod ends for new ones, and the new steering rack also. More pics and updates over the next couple of days as work progresses.

I got to work on the car today again and managed to get the sub frame stripped down to a bare frame, pressed out all the old bushings and ordered new police 9C1 stiffer ones that should be in on Monday. Replace the steering gear with new Moog outer tie rod ends, popped the new control arms on that I swapped to Moog problem solver vertical bushing, ball joint and poly rear bushings. Put the spindles with struts back on, and reinstalled the front sway bar.

Changed over to GTP fuel lines so no rigging of the stock N/A lines or potential fuel leaks. Got a new E85 fuel filter in also, finally swapped out the factory original brake booster for a Monte Carlo 12" smaller diameter one for added clearance and reduced weight. Separated the old engine and trans in hopes of getting started on a transmission rebuild this coming week.

More work to begin Monday along with pictures of progress and updates!!

Got the 9C1 Impala high output alternator to finally fit with some massaging, now it's time to get the proper size Gates blue racing belts.

Bah!!! CS144 alternator, lol. You've got the 9C1 on there now, but next time go CS144, lol. External fan=cooler=longer bearing life. Output in your case doesn't really matter so we won't go into that...

Lookin good! what do you think of the new Moog endlinks? They fit through the Addco alright?

Had no issue with getting it in the bar ends. also instead of the end link dust cover just covering the outside, it is an internally sealed boot

I'll have to look into those, looks like it has a higher quality boot in general. Looks to be poly like the vertical control arm bushings.

Started to tear into the transmission today, got the case stripped, going to clean it up tomorrow. Need to tear into all the clutch packs to see which need replacement and order up some items from Triple Edge Performance. So far I found the trans dip stick tube cracked at the mounting tab and ordered up a new one from work.
Placed an order to ZZP for a new 300M input shaft and waiting on the oil pump shafts to get back in stock. So far a NIB Torsen diff with upgraded bronze washers is going in, a brand new GMR output shaft, Sonnax billet 3rd clutch piston, all new seals and gaskets being replaced, and ZZP aluminum pan.
I'm still on the look out for a GMR 3.29 7/16 gear and chain set, tried contacting a few members on here but no response so if anyone reading this that may have one for sale, please let me know.

I've seen this car.. it's definitely pretty gay.. haha. In all honesty I'm really looking forward to seeing this thing in action. It's a very badass build and it'll be a badass car once it's all back together. And just so everyone knows, this is how a wbody should be built, everything on this car is properly put together and no corners were cut in the making of this thing.
If you ever need a hand when you start reassembling everything let me know, I'd be more than happy to come help out.

Quick update.....transmission overhaul has begun, ordered a 300m input shaft, upgraded input clutch pack, second clutch pack and 3rd clutch pack, new Sonnax channel plate sleeve. During tear down I found the second clutches and steels where burned up and leopard spotted and warped and second clutch drum bushings scored. Upon deeper inspection the drive sprocket support was damaged, ordered new unit and replaced it along with new GXP chains.

Upgaded to the GXP input carrier and reaction carrier with heat treated gears and updated lube dam, Sonnax billet third clutch piston, GMR output shaft, Torsen Differential, Trans Go shift kit, Sonnax lube tube retainer kit, all new GM overhaul gasket & seal kit.

Tomorrow I will install the channel plate, valve body and button things up and get the Precision Industries billet torque converter in, filler her up with new GM Dexron HP fluid that is a full synthetic that's used in the new Z06 Corvette. Plan to bolt up the engine and trans then on Saturday drop the whole unit into the car and begin connecting all the wiring harness.

Currently i have on order from Summit Racing new ARP wheel studs that are going into brand new GM hub bearings, will be switching to Evans water-less coolant that I hope will help keep things cool and reduce the pressure in the cooling system, I've heard nothing but great things about it but it is quite expensive per gallon.

Car will be up and running in 2 weeks, still need to do the pcm tuning and an alignment after all the previous suspension work. That's about all I can think of ATM!!! More updated and pictures in the next day or two

I'm really interested in the GXP input and reaction carrier stuff. I thought the only difference was the hardened chains on the GXPs. I'm sure they have their own VB\CP and all that of course, I'm just talking about the main part of the transmission.

On the LCA bushings, keep an eye on their boots. My passenger side's boot tore already. My car sees a lot more conditions than yours does, dirt roads and such, so you will probably be okay. Just something to keep an eye out for.

The input and reaction carrier on the GXP are an upgrade, if you have access to the GM Racing pdf for the 4T65-E transmission it mentions the 2 components used and the corresponding lube dam that is different than the standard one.

Finished up the rest of the transmission today.....what a pain in the a$$. With everything buttoned up, I prepped by bringing the car back into the shop to drop the sub-frame back out. Tomorrows agenda calls for bolting the engine and trans together and setting it back onto the frame with ZZP poly engine & trans mounts, then reinstalling it all back together into the vehicle, hook up the 9C1 police package oil cooler and power steering cooler.

Had my race buddy's come help out at the shop today, got the engine and trans mated an back into the vehicle, not enough time to do much else. Flushed out all the trans cooler and lines along with swapping the power steering fluid to Dexron VI. At this point didn't have time to hook up any electrical connections or sensor

Went to go look at a real #6 of 6 made MPD F1 Grand Prix GTP that some one local to me is trying to sell for $2500.
Vehicle has been hit on the drivers side B-piller that has caused severe damage, met and talked to him but for what it is, It's too much for me to spend, put the bug in his head to de-mod it and make more that way, got him to sell me his spare rear whale tail spoiler but was wondering if anyone here would be interested

He's firm at $2500 If you really want you can pm me and I'll pass along his info. It will need a new B-Pillar and 2 new doors, if it's something you think you can tackle it be a nice project with some added value. I'll give you all the specs the car has

Oh I thought you were talking about anyone on here being interested in the spoiler, lol. I'm constantly on the hunt for one of those and a a set of rails.

LOL I just re-read my post on that and I can see what you ment. No the spare spoiler I'm buying is going on the race car, plus it has a crack in the fiberglass. What I ment was if anyone was interested in buying his car, sorry bout the confusion
