My 2000 TransAm

I haven't updated in a while. I ordered black center caps for the wheels and got the calipers painted in red/black although you can't appreciate it on the picture D=

I was going to buy a used cam and springs but: 1. The seller backed out and 2. It costs almost the same to order everything brand new from summit:

Trickflow pushrods, GMPP LS6 cam and LS6 springs

The cam and the springs are in, I had the valve covers painted in blue. I also got me an HP tuners for 300 bucks when I was in Dallas.

I already have the tune in for 6500rpm shifts. I had hypertech before and it is a lot more stronger now, hypertech tune is too mild if you ask me. I'm also going to add the perf shift button so I can have a more streetable trans tune that wont go all the way to 6.5k rpm spinning the wheels every time I get on it.

I may be able to take it to the track this weekend if all goes as planned.

I'm picking it up today from the shop. I just realized that I will have to take it to the track until next week because they only prep the track on wednesday nights. Tonight is too soon and I won't have time to tune it right. I also need my buddy to go with me to race it against my old GTP and take the video. I'm hoping it will run 13.5 - 13.8 at this altitude (5000ft) that should be would be low 12's in lower places. That's also what I've seen Fbodys with similar setups run.

I don't think I'll take a video of it at idle since this cam doesn't lope I guess there's not much to see lol.

Cam only with some fat slicks and a 5500rpm launch, my buddy pulled a 11.96. Had ran about 8-9 times before he got the 1.60 60ft and once he did it trapped 11.9s so he quit for the night.

I wouldn't suggest it too many times as he had to put a new rear end in the car about a month later. but do what you want :D

EDIT: Video -
Got the video of my buddy running a 11.96 pass. 01 Maro, Cammed LS1, T56 6Spd, crying rear end, big city slickers... pulled a 1.60 60'

When you go to replace it, don't go with a crappy one, spend the money and put a good diff back in it. That is the weakest link in the F-body cars. Same friend in the video, he's rebuilt his rear end about 4 times in the past year, finally got a good differential that could hold up to his driving.

Might want to service it before you go to the track. May help a little bit. Worst thing is to break down on the track and have to trailer home without any good runs.

o i have read all the comments on here and i would have to say one thing RAM AIR HOOD!!! and all the connnections for it. Well when i was 17 my dad bought a ws6 with ram air and when you hit 60 the ram air opens up and you get a huge boot in very cold air with more power. it will go from 60 to 100 in a very big hurry stock, so with the mods you done it should be in a bigger hurry. lol

From my friends F-body collections over the years, the best looking I've seen was the 18 staggered Z06 wheels, still bigger than stock, but allow for nice meaty DRs so you could hook and go. They also allowed for a smoother ride that low-pros on 20s don't allow for, gotta have some give in the tires.

If you're happy with them, great, don't change, but if you wanna race the car and get some good hook you need to find a nice set of 18s or 17s that you can get some drag radials, or slicks on... with some skinnies up front so you can raise the roof bahahaa

Not zo6 but got a good deal on these c6 wheels Here's a shot of my baby.. Sold years ago unfortunately.

My car has been smelling like sh1t on the outside since I got back. I just found it has a furball in between the front drivers side wheel and the calipper. Probably some small cat or animal. No idea how it ended up there. I'm gonna hate it if its a cat I like cats and I have one.

yup, it was a small kitten... not good.

Anyway I've done a couple of pulls on the street and it's really hard to do it without burning the tires, those 245s are NOT meant for that. Most of the times it starts going sideways when it reaches 5000 rpm and that's going on a straight line before it shifts on an even surface.

yeah. I'm kinda rocking wheels off of a iroc-z camaro on my bird. Glad to see I'm not the only one on here with one
