My 04 GP vs GTO!!

I was on my way home last night from work heading to Quik Trip(gas station) for some late night drinkage lol... well any way i stop at a stop light and up pulls a red GTO.. the guy looks over at me and smiles and nods... i though hmmm why not i havent really ran my car WOT in a while... so light turns green and we take off somewhat normal... we both look over at each other and then i hear him accelerate so i do too.. at this point we are going about 40 and right about the time i accelerate up to him he punches it, i follow suit... i pull very good car length on him as we reach about 85 he lets off... i ended up pulling into QT for my beer... and you will never guess who pulls in right after.. the guy lol... turns out he works there. he pulls up right next to me and says good job man.. and asks me if i am SC?.. i say yes and he goes ya i heard that **** lol... he told me he let off about halfway though b/c he was unfamiliar with the roads around here.. so i give him the benefit of the doubt and say good run man! i asked him about his car and he says it is all stock V8 except for an intake...i was really surprised that i did so well... i usually dont run against may people so i didnt really know how i would do against him.. anyway thats the story, unfortunately no video for all you haters out there that never believe people lol take it how you want lol
 


sorry mods are: Gen V(top swapped), 1.9 rockers, 3.0 pulley, 42.5lb injectors, phenolic intercooler with stage 3 HE, pacesetter headers w/ 3" full exhaust, and other little supporting mods as well...

ya i asked bc i thought they made v6 goats too?? do they not?
 
Depending on your mods and the "he told me he let off about halfway though ... it is all stock V8 except for an intake" I believe it could be very plausible. I know several who think its just a granny car and they get into it about 1/2 throttle thinking they will just pull and by the time they realize the whine is a WHINE its game over and they gotta play catch-up.
 


No way you'd keep up with an LS2 goat unless you are super heavy ehr mah gerd modded. Either way, good run against an ls1. Not sure of your mods tho...cant be stock.

lol ohh gotcha i thought for some reason the made V6 GTO's nvm then... ya i was just surprised, like i said before i dont really run against people like that so i didnt really know how i would match up against a V8

Considering the powerplant in either, they are slow. The GTOs are heavier by far so they are much slower than the Camaro/Vette counterparts of the previous years. But they are still fairly quick and can be VERY quick with the right mods.
