Oxymoron: Civic - Fun
Not long ago I was heading outta state with some family and my uncle has a HHR SS turbo, so we line them up from about 60 roll on and punch it, well when we finally got to where we hit the gas at the same time I had him by about atleast a car length by 100( I had 3 ppl in my car he had 2) still though his car was much quicker than I woulda thought. still couldnt take the old GXP tho.
 


mid to low 14's for a banger bone stock...it sure does look ugly though. I'd like to see a bolt ons one vs. your GXP. But stock for stock I bet he might have had ya or it be dead even.
 
nah, believe it or not my car almost seems a little slower since i put the mods on. its almost like its choking a bit every since i got the first set of flowmasters on it. but no stock for stock i think it still wouldnt have a chance.
 
depends on driver and launch, also this was from 50 or 60 to about 100, he just didnt have the power to keep up in the higher end and I had MUCH more weight in my car(atleast 300lbs more) from ppl. he even told me I was a little quicker........in the words of one of my buddies"when it all comes down to it, theres no replacement for displacement"
 
It dont really matter to me tho, I dont care if someone is faster I just like the looks of ppl when a grand prix drives by them sounding like mine does. just tonight on the way home from work this blue mustang gt was comin up quick weavin in and out of traffic so when he got to me I punched it by him and couldnt get him to race because I think it was a v6 with GT logo idk.

yes, it was just a friendly run with my uncle, and, it doesnt matter what i say about cars because i really dont know squat. thats why im here. i dont really know if a v8 can beat anything else im just blabbering, you may have took me seriously, dont lol the only thing i know about is some video games lol. tc man.

Odd. You're like the second or third person to come on here with a GXP saying that their car seemed to be choking after the flowmasters. Everyone just called the other 2 guys idiots, but I think there might be some truth to it now. If you get some time you should take them off and see if it feels any different.
 
Any exhaust restricts flow. Simple physics at play.

A mid eighties 305 LG4 made 150 HP from the factory, 300 horse at the wheels with intake, heads, cam and exhaust.
 
no really, stock ran alot smoother than it did with the flowmasters AT FIRST, they seemed to break in after a while and not be so bad but that may just be because I forgot what it was like stock. this new exaust I got on here that opened it up all the way made it seem like a whole new car and does not feel like it is choking at all,as to where the dual chamber made it feel like it was from about 4k RPM up.
