So I'm gonna guess that this job isn't something I can just do by watching videos and reading things. Am I right?
Nope only a few of completed it. You need a rare tranny and fab skills. Sven built one and there's a couple other guys on here That have been popping up. I think ginseng has the actual rare tranny for sale
Not just ultra rare tranny made of unobtainium (yes there's one for sale...contact Ginseng) but fab skills that are beyond the scope of understanding, plus a clutch that's going to cost you $500 and a $150 flywheel and pray the clutch hydraulics are all in good shape because they're becoming almost as difficult to source as the trans. Total swap takes about a week.
It would probably take me two weeks. Haha. But that's out of my price range, I can get a built trans for that price right? Wouldn't a built 4T65e be better anyway? Is the 4T65e HD only for s/c engines or would it help an n/a engine also?

Spoiler alert: you are on a tight budget and have minimal knowledge working on a car. A custom transmission is so far out of your price and knowledge range don't waste your time thinking about it. You bought the wrong car if you want a manual transmission.
Both are easily destroyed with either engine.
B Check your motor mounts.
Well I feel confident enough to at least rebuild my transmission.
One of my motor mounts is all the way broken. I have no idea how it even happened.![]()
Also a tranny flush and filter wouldn't hurt at them miles.
Really?? Your a noob to cars and you feel confident that you can rebuild the 4T65E? Usually people that do this kind of work have had some type of dealership training, or some other on-the-job training with skilled people, etc.
^Glad I didn't have to say it. Again, I'm not trying to be a jerk but stick with the basics for now (that was the whole point of this thread). Fix what is broken and go from there.
