Magnets on fuel rails?

This guy Im doing a side job for says he puts magnets on his fuel rails, and supposedly increases gas milage (1-2 mpg). He says it does something to the molecuels and makes the gas explode better/ more efficient. Anyone ever hear about this?
 


umm... lets think about this... fuel is not magnetic.... if your pump is failing and metal makes its way past the filter it will catch some metal particals... that will eventually build up and when dislodged clog your injectors much faster then if the particals were free.... same thing if water got into the fuel line and caused rust....

the only time i saw a non ferris material effected by a magnet was when Nasa was using a super huge magnet the size of a car to make a tiny frog weightless. was cool!

but even if that magnet could "a line the fuel" as they described in an infomercial years ago, it would be mixed all up when it passes the fuel pressure regulator and then thru the fuel injectors not to mention once the fuel is sprayed into the air! and mixed up.


on a side note i was at the junk yard wed and saw a malibu with a burned engine mod... i saw this funny metal thing next to the MAF. it was one of those turbonator things to swirl the air. the yard let me have it for free! these things are said to be rated at like 20HP!!!! hope my trany can handle it!!! lol but seriously all these things are gimicks. you cant increase air flow on a modern fuel injected engine by putting something that restricts flow. i can see it working on a carb where you would swirl the air fuel just before the intake manifold...


Now magnets on your oil filter is a better idea to catch more junk. and trany pans do have magnets already
 


I didn't know so many of you were smartasses lol. I didn't think they did anything either. I just kind of shook my head and agreed with the guy....he's the boss lol

I've heard of very high powered magnets helping gas mileage but for the size and weight of the magnets and the power to run them they really aren't worth it. It's supposed to align the fuel or some **** like that.
 
Magnets only work if you are using Tornado Air.

Even after scanning their website for info (a big waste of my time) I still have yet to see how a restriction in the air intake system actually improves flow. Someone amaze me.
 


The theory begind the tornado/turbonado/etc is that they create a vortex and will help with atomozation of fuel.

Problem is, once the air hits the upper intake the turbulence is vastly different and it has to go into seperate runners before it even gets to the injectors and lower manifold.

Now on a carb vehicle it actually could work, because the carb is the upper intake.
 
I added all kinds of stuff to my car a tornado save me 15%, magnets another 10%, spark enhancers 25%, this thingamabob I plug in the lighter gives another 25%, headers 10%, and so on and so forth until finally I was saving 125%. now when I drive dang thing it saves so much gas it produces it own and starts spilling out the gas cap, so now I have a a new problem, and since I never have to stop for gas I never get to use a rest room or grab a coke on a long trip...damn
