maaaaaaasive fuel leak

What occurs is the FPR goes bad, this lets fuel get past the seals and into the vacuum line that supplies the FPR. Fuel travels back into the line and into the intake. A backfire occurs and blows it to hell.

Best part is if you ignored all the recall notices, GM pays out nicely when your car explodes.

Uhh yeah I don't want that. I have pulled the vacuum line on it before and I could smell a faint smell of gas but never anything visually. You guys mentioned there was a year range for the recalls, hope mine isn't part of it. I'd change is asap if so. Man whats up with GM and leaking fuel problems?

And for the record, the FPR is indeed included in the recall, and is leaking fuel into the throttle body. The dealership won't do the recall though cause its in a different car than the original VIN.

Sad.

GM also won't warranty parts you buy from say an O'Reilly's, Autozone or Advance Auto. They are real sticklers like that.

Damn FPR wasn't even swappable.

The one off of my 00 GP fuel rail was significantly bigger than the one in the 98 LeSaber rail.

Cleaned it up, put it back together, and said a prayer.
