• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hey guys, I spend most of my time on RGS, but I pop over here for classifieds and occasionally for some information I'm having trouble finding on RGS or CGP. Trying to udpate my profile and whatnot.

I bought my 1999 Buick Regal in 2002 with 45k miles. I've now had her almost 10 years. I've been little by little doing small mods and acquiring parts. I live in SLC, so if any of you are nearby, hit me up. Hoping to get all my go fast goodies installed to take some runs at RMR by the end of the season.

Currently my car is sitting at 205k miles. I like to keep everything as stock looking as possible to maintain the sleeper style that is what got me into a GS in the 1st place. When I first had the car I installed an autostart and a decent system. I've done fairly well at keeping general maintenance up. That has included things such as replacing seats, trim pieces, and other normal wear/tear stuff. About a year ago I swapped in an AL cradle and oil pan and redid my entire suspension(GR2s to be stock-ish ride). Currently have 3" mandrel exhaust with a PLOG. Running a 3.5. about 5k miles ago I swapped in a Tim King trans and switched to 3.29 gears. Sitting on the table is IC,N*,1.9 rockers, SSAC headers and a few other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. Looking forward to spend more time around here. My favorite mod by far is my modified DIC control buttons(inspired by Bill) where I installed homelink into my dash and made a matching button.

When I originally put in my system, I put in an HU, Focal components up front running off of an old MTX Thunder 275x amp. I have two Polk Momo 10s in separate boxes in the trunk that are amped(can't remember the amp). I didn't replace the 6x9s as I was basically told that most of my bass is from the subs and the highs will be up front and that the 6x9s weren't necessary. I've been convinced that I should replace the 6x9s. I ordered some infinity kappas. I didn't really want to have a separate amp(2 in my car is enough), so I got this 4 channel amp to replace my 2 channel amp running my Focals. This will be going under the seat and will be powering my front components and my 6x9s.

Did some dinking around today. Didn't quite get the motor pulled like I had planned, but I'm almost there. I already took off the trans snout bracket and got the ***** bolt out. Just need to unhook the DP and the motor to trans bolts and I'll be pulling this thing out. Almost every fin on my condenser is bent on the bottom 5 inches, so I'll be investing in a fin comb.

ooooh when it comes time to do my gen 5 swap i may need your assistance
Yeah, I should know what I'm doing. BTW, I have my tuner under a little bit more control. I'm not an expert yet, but I'm not having problems connecting it to my lappy anymore.

Why is the whole front end off the car?
Well, it probably wasn't necessary, but since I have new paint on the bumper, and I'm probably going to need to cut the bumper support anyway, I just pulled everything off. I was about to pull my motor out, but realized that I forgot to disconnect the flex plate bolts. I'm finally installing all of my fun parts. IC, GenV, N*, 1.9s, 105#. I also know that i don't have to remove my motor to do any of those things, but it will make it a little easier to work on. I'm going to end up replacing all the fluids anyway, so not worried about. I'll clean this thing off, and may even paint some stuff. The main reason I'm pulling it is to deal with a oil pan bolt. I have one bolt that is stripped or has some issue, so I'll deal with that.

I thought you had said IC. Yeah..you need to pull it. Flex bolts..funny you say that. I read through what you said and thought.. he didn't say them, but there's tons of other bolts he didn't say either. Hmmm I wondered.

So what you are saying is that you realized that I missed these and didn't let me know. Now you carry culpability for the delayed completion of my project!!!! :)

I realized at 6am today. Figured it was likely me, the steroids the doc has me on this week or that it was simply early.

You also commented on the backwards bolt. Which I can take out with 12" extention and leaving the wheel on the car. I know you don't want to hear things like...my motor was out in 1.5 hours or less.
