Lug Nut Torque

That's right! I lost one due to over-tightening. My wheel felt funny so I pulled over to check & one was gone. So I tighten the rest and I snapped another.Crap!

I rode home very carefully and picked up a new set of studs that night.

Put them in & torqued them to 100 inbls. Don't just tighten these bolts. Do it right!

I assume you mean 100 ft. lbs.

for people who have air compressors and air guns for it. You can get a certain socket (god I wish I remembered the name) thats a torque stick. Basicly its like a socket but its longer and the shaft down the center becomes thin. It will twist at a certain ft/lb. My friend worked for a shop and bought a bunch of these. Very easy to use and makes puttings tires on a breeze along with always knowing they are exactly as tight as they need to be.

my brother has a set of torque sticks. they are pretty nice for what they are. they end up flexing when they get to the right torque and dont tighten anymore.

Execpt they do not work with el cheapo impacts. I have seen some only make it to 50ftlbs.

Torque sticks are great i heard they dont take being dropped well

In class we had to torque every wheel to spec and alot of the time it was checked with out our knowing some people had long essays to write
Stemmed off s customers car sent out with out propper torque and lugs came loose

Trust me, It's worth it. You can get a torque wrench for a decent price. I almost lost a wheel.

Which costs more?
