Alright GPF, I have a story for you all, so sit tight, and listen up.
This evening, I was minding my own business.... Well not really, but that's how all stories like this start. I was cruising with my buddy who's currently driving a '95 Camaro Z28 - LT1, 6 Speed Manual.
Every turn, every red light, the kid tries to "out run" me, thinking I couldn't keep up with him. When we finally reach our destination, he says, "I'm impressed, not many people can keep up with me like that." He starts looking the car up and down and the only thing he really comments on is that my GP is a 4-door. He kept telling me how sh1tty my car is cause it's 4-door. I just simply reply, "Yeah well all in all it is just a Grand Prix, so I agree, It is pretty sh1tty."
Finally he asks the question I was waiting for, "So, you want to race?" Obviously I replied, yes but said I will race only from a Dig. Smart decision on my behalf.
So we take off and get to the nearest double lane road. He pulls up next to me, I give him the nod, he starts revving his engine to 3500+/- as I just sit there silently in my "Sh1tty Grand Prix," I give three honks and we are off.
I got the jump easily, way more than expected. Had about a full car length consistently, and by 70ish mph I figured he would start to reel me in, but as I keep my eye on my passenger side mirror, he wasn't getting any closer. Still at least a full car length behind. At 90mph, I shut it down, because eventually the camaro would have came back.
When we got back to our original destination, the kid said, "I can't believe it, I honestly just lost to a Grand Prix and by a lot as well. I'm stunned. I must say I am very impressed and this damn car sure does pull." Then I just reply, "Yeah, not so bad for a 4-door." Then got in my car and went home.
