LS4 Build, what to buy?

Great looking car, I need to get that hood for mine. Unfortunately I don't have access to a lift to drop the cradle. I still need to get an engine hoist. But It's almost ready to come out. I just gotta finish pulling everything of the front of the engine, and then pull the headers and down pipe. After that it's just a matter of separating the engine from the trans.

I did mine all messed up.. so don't take my advice (also the wire harness is a total *****) but I lifted my car up almost 2' and hooked the motor to a crane.. dropped it slowly while attached to the cradle.. got it down and lowered the rear of the car to lift the front and rolled it out the front...

The engine is ready to come out. There's not much I can do till I get a hoist. It was a lot more work than anticipated, but it was tolerable.

already complicating things to much plus once you disconnect the the harness from the fusebox you can drop everything free and clear. take off the front bumper and wrap the chain around on the bumper support. use that to lift the body up. IMO its super easy to just do in the car, no need to pull the whole assembly out the car to mess with. to each there own though

Without a lift I didnt feel like dropping the cradle. It seemed easier to just keep all the work in the engine bay. As far as leaving the engine in, I don't think it's possible to do all the work I need done with the engine in the car. I should mention I have very little experience in pulling/ building engines, so this is all new to me.

I got a parts list together. Ill be spending just over $5500 for everything, that includes a new trans from triple edge performance. I'm also getting the cam, pushrods, and rockers from lunati instead of comp.

I think im going with one of the ones they offer. part #21460701. Im hoping the idle will be what im looking for.

Its been a while since I posted. I put this project off to deal with other projects, but parts are finally coming in. I ended up going with a cam package and dod delete kit from Texas Speed. The cam package I bought was their High Lift 212/218 .600/.600 112LSA. Updates and Pictures coming soon. Does anybody know a good source for getting a custom tune made?
