Lowering spring!

I'm wanting to install eibach lowering springs I heard you needed to get shorter dog bones and a full alignment after the spring change is this true? Thanks

So I was reading the above posted link and it talks about how lowering springs can cause excessive wear on the axles and such which I didn't realize, is that in general or if you just put the springs on without doing anything else for example engine mount spacers?

You are modding the suspension and angles beyond what the factory thought was okay for minimal problems and wear. Once you change that, you are more prone to parts failing and wearing faster.

Will they really wear faster, maybe or maybe not. Doing the mount spacers is the best support mod to buy for lowering springs/coil-overs, they get it really close or exactly how it was from the factory.
 


OK then that makes a lot if sense I'll have to find out where to get the spacers. Thanks. Also is it OK to put the springs on OEM struts cause I can get springs used for really cheap compared to having to buy a strut/spring combo

ZZP sells spacers I think, though the holes need to be hogged out sometimes to fit really nice. But thats 5 minutes of trial and error with a drill bit, no biggy.

Stock shocks are fine, they might not last long time if they have alot miles on them already. Add some non pogo washers and you are set.
 
What are bearing plates?
They connect the strut to the vehicle.

So, another name for the strut mount is a bearing plate?
Also, the anti pogo washers are actually the washers for the sub frame. Don't let a store sell you them for $10 a piece when you can just get them from a salvage yard.
And as far as installing the engine mount spacer, that's what I did when I lowered my 40th Anniversary back in 2008. I also have shortened dog bones. I have the original axles on the car, never had any wear issues and I am at 222K miles
