• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

lower intake manifold might be leaking...

I haven't pulled the trigger on this but I think I might have to.... I need to check my fluids to make sure they are still ok. I noticed a faint burning smell.. I think it might be coolant burning on the side of the engine.. but not sure..

I read that othr people replace the PCV and the injector o rings? Is that somehing I should as well? What about the water pump?

Which PCV?

ACDELCO Part # CV892C
or
ACDELCO Part # 89017274
or
ACDELCO Part # 2142296

I wonder how much more it will cost to replace this on my car... what about the water pump?

Which O ring? I see there are upper sets and lower sets...

ACDELCO Part # 217452
I think I need to buy 10 of these
or
ACDELCO Part # 2173366
or
FEL-PRO Part # ES71190

anyone want to buy this car when I'm done?

Here's a thread with tons of gasket etc info in it.

ES70599 should work, but I didn't see what year your car is...that may change the part.

2000 Natural...

Here is what Rockauto shows. Is there an upper and a lower?

i just picked up a set of o rings from harbor freight for 10 bucks, it has 10 O rings of 25 different sizes of O rings, fuel rated too.

i plan on using them for my injectors. i only bought the pack for (1) fuel line O ring i lost on a friends truck, so it works out good in the long run for me, and they were free....

Does anyone know the difference with the parts I listed above? Anything else I should replace? I want to buy these parts...

MS98014T thats the part number for the gasket set. get that, UIM gasket with a new UIM like stated previously. new thermostat, fresh oil for a change. fresh coolant. coolant elbows. and valve cover gaskets with the grommets. THATS IT

Ill have to look.... are you sure it comes with the fuel injector o rings? Upper and lower? I was also adding the pcv valve..

Take a look at the picture in the link
Buy Felpro Intake Manifold Gasket Set MS 98014 T at Advance Auto Parts___

That's what comes in the gasket set mentioned. Has 6 fuel injector o-rings. They expect you won't be pulling them out of the rail. In reality if you have a 2000 then you may want to replace all 12 of them based on age. Part is ES70599, there are 4 rings per package.

Looking at the picture..let's name the gaskets, in case anyone isn't sure what piece belongs where:
Top metal gasket - one side of lim to head gasket
Left side outer - 98+ engine end seal with locating pins. This sits under the driver or passenger end to seal the LIM to the block.
Left side right of outer - 96-97 engine end seal without locating pins. This sits under the driver or passenger end to seal the LIM to the block. Blue in color. Will not be used on your motor
Tube - RTV for the corners were the head to lim and block to lim gaskets meet.
Four o-rings in top row - One should be pcv, two for the coolant elbows (get new elbows), last may be back of L36 manifold vaccum hose to brake booster.
Big ring top row - Appears to be a thermostat seal (goes around stat)
Bottom o-rings - six fuel injector o-rings
Bottom right paper gasket - thermostat housing. used only on pre 2000 engines. Will not hurt to be used oon a 2000+. Many 00+ seep from the thermostat housing.

It looks like this is the part that will fit for the upper injector o ring

Part No. ES 71192

Now the reviewes for the MS98014T say it comes with the upper o rings, not the lower... so confused..

Then stop fuggin asking us what the part number is lol. Clearly you looked it up, you double checked it. That is what you should do and that's the best thing in reality. But even Santa doesn't check his list as many times as you've done here. :o

Now I read that the Dorman coolant elbows are junk and break. Should I buy genuine OEM? alot more expensive, but fine...

here are the GM part numbers: elbow to intake, part# 24503423
elbow to water pump, part# 12565082
