Love/Hate about the grand prix/am

GP 97-03
LOVE:
Easy to add power
Supercharger
Dual exhaust
Coupe
Seat heater is super hot
HUD
DIC
Interior
Styling
Torque
Handling (I dont know why people say they have body roll, mine has near none. My 94 integra had ridiculous amounts of body roll.)

HATE:
Some interior quality (mainly just the arm rest)
4 Speed only, and it's durability (Even a 5 speed auto wouldve been better)
Didnt come faster stock (Dont most turbo cars come with intercoolers? Why couldnt a supercharged one? 3.8 pulley is too big!)
Window motors
Spacious
Some design flaws
Guess you could say fwd but both of them have their advantages.

Overall i love the car but the engine couldve been put to insanely better use on a rwd with an intercooler. Oh god.

04+ ( But i dont have one )
LOVE:
Design
Interior
Seats
Hardened 4th Gear
GXP
Upgraded supercharger

HATE:
Big engine + Supercharger at this point is easily beaten by other cars with less
Interior quality
Pig nose exhaust

Grand ams arent really anything to me, theyre cheap looking cars unless 05 or whatever year without all the cladding and only in black imo.
Interior is decent quality except for the seats, theyre horrible. Dont know about driving one.

I hate that the GT/SC hood was a fairly common factory option hood and I see them regularly. But I see few GTPs and even fewer with nice hoods because GM only made the regular hood and the SLP Ram Air that was and still is a uncommon upgrade.

Why couldn't we get a F1 design factory like the GAs did!?!?!?!? :th_angry-cussing:

HAte: crosslace rims, rattle plastic interior, climate control buttons/knobs, big heavy doors (2dr), over designed/underperform engine gaskets, FWD/strut suspension.
likes:supercharger/ 3800 series 2, 4 wheel independent suspension, smooth ride, inexpensive parts, styling, big trunk, decent mph, reliable.

i love everything about the grand prix especially when you punch it down on the highway. i have owned mine since august of 2000 and never had any major repairs except the air conditioning (no big deal) and its still kickin it at 245,xxx. i feel bad for all of you who have or had a grand prix that has done nothing but nickle and dime you:(. as for the grand am, well they're rust buckets and i would never buy one because of that.

i wouldnt say slow bro i smoked a v-6 camero in my stock gt last weekend fat and heavy...yes. slow? ive seen and been in MUCH slower cars

same here, back in September my stock gt smoked a V-8 firebird:th_biggrin1: . not sure how it happened though so the grand prix is definitely is not a slow car.

Hate:
Stupid 3 spoke rims
How the HUD is pretty much useless during the day (idk about how 04+ HUDs are)
How the power steering pump can't deal with any kind of aggressive driving
Rattly interior

Love:
Reliability
S/C whine
Decent mpgs
Heated driver seat but not passenger seat
Practical and roomy
etc.
