Looking for some opinions.

Hey guys,

I've never put aftermarket wheels on a car and just looking for some opinions and maybe a little help. Any brands I should stay clear of? Any tips for first time buyers?

Here are a few I'm mainly looking at.. as you can see I'm a sucker for a nice clean 5 spoke wheel =).

1

2

3

I'd like to go the 18" or more route... and heres what they're going on.

Thanks in advance guys!

i like 1...or 2..or 3? they all look good, go 19 if you do, i'd like to see what that looks like with those wheels.

I agree with the majority...and either 18's or 19's.

Then drop it and get some bigger brakes because the stock brakes look STUPID small behind big wheels

Yeah, same here as everyone else. I'd suggest 18s though, because 19s and up (19s more than 20s) are going to cost a ton for tires. I know bio will probably feel the need to chime in about something here, but I know he knows the deal with the price of 19" tires :p

wheels are like anything else, you pay for what you get. Go cheap, you get more imperfections, cheaper metal's and finish's. Basically its like buying a 6x9 Dual from wal-mart, then buying a 6x9 Alpine type S and expecting the same quality and performance. A Enkei or MOMO will be lighter, stronger, last longer, and be much more true then a SR Racing or some bull**** like that. I've seen brand new wheels (Raceline brand to be exact) that had bends, pits, minor weld seems, and spots on the red pinstripe totally missing, my shop also payed about $82 a wheel for a 18x8, so there ya go and i hope this helps!

who seriously pays the money to buy name brand wheels anymore when they are so cheap? thats a joke, right?

as far as a Saleen rip off wheel, thats dirt cheap, and the plating would fall off in a few years if exposed to weather, I'm just saying you get what you pay for. I do about 10 sets of wheels a week and have seen it all, and cheap price shows when you look for it
