• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

looking for opinions.

There again, you're putting a fiberglass splice on the face of the hottest spot on the hood. Thats where it would crack, even though its all fiberglass rather than that bonded to metal. Just lay the scoop on the old hood for shape before the new skin is made, the shape will be in the new skin and you can use the finished scoop on something else. I'm still not sure we're on the same page. I drew this yesterday is case of that. Yes, cutting air holes would come after the new skin has been separated from the old. The existing metal hood skin is discarded.

FG on FG will crack that easily ?
heck if you're gonna go thru all that you might as well fabricate a reusable mold and mass produce them to sell to forum member buddies for cheap...hint, hint , drunk ....my buddy ole pal...:th_thumbsup-wink: lol

Well, a seam is a seam so its an opportunity to crack, and with a scoop right over the engine heat will constantly swell that area. Beats a metal to glas seam for long life though. As far as making a mold... those require a vast amount of material to build plus you gotta stash it until somebody wants one. Another reason to just form it over the existing hood.

But yeah, this only scratches the surface of what is possible and just on one area of the car. Don't let my wild ideas or warnings stand in the way of your creativity. You'll come up with something good, and probably better just from having a conversation about it.

what kills my motivation to create or do pretty much anything really car wise is my lack of a work area. i don't have a garage or even an acceptable basement to work or store anything. hell i went an bought a DA polisher , 8 pack of assorted hex logic pads , nanoskin spounge, compound , polish , and wax 6 months ago and haven't used any of it yet because i don't have a place to get out of the sun or rain and have access to electric.

That does kinda kill it. A least any big noisy messy projects like I'm talking. Even at my house I can't do a whole lot because noise.

oh i don't care about the noise. i just need a place to keep out of the weather. painting and stuff outside just don't cut it.
