There again, you're putting a fiberglass splice on the face of the hottest spot on the hood. Thats where it would crack, even though its all fiberglass rather than that bonded to metal. Just lay the scoop on the old hood for shape before the new skin is made, the shape will be in the new skin and you can use the finished scoop on something else. I'm still not sure we're on the same page. I drew this yesterday is case of that. Yes, cutting air holes would come after the new skin has been separated from the old. The existing metal hood skin is discarded.
