Looking for opinions.

Ok the time has come for something new in the future. Like 7-8 months future. So I've been eyeing either a firebird or a trans am. Trans am seems to be more expensive but which one has the better engine? Pros and cons of both? Gonna sell my car maybe around my bday to get something new so I need some help. Thanks.

well my opinion if your going to go with something newer if possible i would go 2002 trans am if you are going to do or want to race it all that is the best starting point but i had a 94 camaro z/28 with the lt1 and dont get me wrong that thing was a beast but the gas milage just was practical for me to be a DD but but the ls1 gets descent milage provided you keep your out of the pedal lol

I like the speed but I don't plan on racing it. It will be my daily driver. I just a rwd v8. That will keep me happy lol oh and it has to have t-tops :)

well then any year with the ls1 will be fine for DD and they are very reliable basic maintenance and your good to go

yup lt1 5.7 but so is the ls1 but the ls1 has a coilpack per cylinder where the lt1 has the optspark unit that sits behind the waterpump but of course you can get an lt1 trans am cheaper than a newer ls1 but for a little more money the the ls1 is a lot easier to work on

lol trans am is a firebird. Do you mean formula?

LT1s are meh. LS1s are alot like a sbf, I'd definitely go that route. :th_stirthepot:

Oh my friend has a trans am. I believe it's a 94. He has a 350 block from what he told me. I think that's more than enough for a daily driver. What do you think?

LT1 is a lot like a conventional sbc
LS1 is racecar
