hey, So i have been looking to buy a grand prix since my grand am was written off, I found a 2005 GXP for 12000 in near perfect shape but found a GTP comp for 4000 less. I test drove the GTP and noticed a few issues and just want your take on it since i am not yet familiar with this car or the SC 3800.
GTP comp - 2005 15000kms (95000 miles ish)
-The keyless entry does not work but that will probably be fixed by the dealer.
-During the test drive when i came to a stop i noticed about 1/4 a cup of water pour onto the shifter from what seemed to be the dome light? is this a common leak area, Dealer thinks someone left the sunroof open a little?
-The car has some rust I noticed on the rear suspension, is there any common rust spots on this car? the body is in perfect shape but i was not able to do a full check underneath due to weather. I would mostly likely be replacing alot of it anyways so im not to worried as long as the frame and subframe are good.
- The car runs good but if you have it in park and rev the engine, around 3000 rpm you hear a knocking sound, i thought it was an exhaust clamp that was loose but im thinking either its old gas or not premium. (this one worries me)
- There is a yellow engine light on, dealer is going to scan it monday and give me the code, ill post it here so you guys can maybe give me some insight thanks.
