well for started i already had an account lol but i couldnt log in anymore with facebook so made an account...

but i changed my theremostat to 195 today an did a coolant flush and put all new coolant in it... a

and that was around noon and i went to the car wash an sprayed the engine down to make sure i wasnt smelling burnt coolant all day lol

and on my way home from the gym and i got a whiff of coolant an my thought was.. WHAT THE F***!!?? well get home popped the hood an checked everything an as i was about to shut the hood my heart dropped an i checked around the LIM gasket and sure enough its leaking
-____-

what all needs replaced and yea i checked out Bills post about plugging the intake.. part of me wants to do it but then im iffy on it.. so i guess ill see what you guys say.. ill put pics up tomorrow

I looked at bills thread for the how to but he said the L36 passages aren't recessed like the L67 is.. also what if I don't block the passages?
And does the Uim gasket need replaced if they become seperated?

If the rubber of the gasket on the uim is flattened then you should replace it, if its original then you should replace it.

You can still tap the holes for plugs with a 3/8 npt plug and tap. There won't be too many threads but it can still be done.

If you don't want to plug them its no big deal, it just keeps coolant out of the tb which would keep the tb cooler but not enough that you would notice it while driving.

Can some one tell me exactly what all I need to replace? I caught the situation early before any oil is in the engine so I'm good there.. but does the upper intake manifold need replaced? Or do I literally only replace gaskets an I'm done?

LIM gasket set (Fel-Pro 98014T) and the UIM set (Fel-Pro 95812) have all the gaskets you need, including the water jacket gasket. Get a new coolant temp sensor and change the valve cover gaskets and grommets and coolant elbows while you're in there. It took me about 8 hours and I'm a novice. I didn't plug the coolant holes (not enough time). Use the advice and tutorials on the site and you'll do fine.

metal lim gasket is the only way to go. You could replace the whole upper intake manifold if you want to not have to worry about it anymore.

so i should get the dorman gasket an dorman coolant elbows? also where can i get them... i cant find them online? was going to do some price comparison

Get aluminum coolant elbows from rock auto. Metal lim gaskets are felpro or one other brand I can't think of.
