Lightweight Pushrods?

Keep this short and simple. Here in the spring I will be taking off my 105's and putting on 130's so I can turn up the boost more on the turbo without having valve float. While I'm swaping out to the 130's I'll also be adding Manley Ti Retainers.

My question is....Can Intense lightweight pushrods be used with the 130's spring setup?

"Our Lightweight pushrods (PRL Series) weigh 425 grams per set of twelve (approximately 25% less than the factory rods) and their .049" thick 4130 seamless chrome moly one-piece design is significantly stronger than stock. These are the ideal choice if you're running non-roller rocker arms in your naturally aspirated engine with stock, 90#, or 105# valve springs."

My thing is that they are supposed to be stronger and stock pushrods.....and many people run stock pushrods with 130's springs. So with having said that, shouldn't the lightweight pushrod work with the 130's??

I want to say when I was looking into them that it wasn't recommended to run them with 130# springs.

Todd told me personally (deja vu, cause I friggin just told you this) not to use them with 130#, they are not strong enough. Run the upgraded 7.050" rods.

I did ask you about it....wanted to have more people chime in.

Just find it crazy that they are supposed to be stronger than stock when there are people running 130's on stock pushrods...that's all

Could be also that the material is stronger than stock steel but not beefy enough to handle 130# springs as small as they are.

The material is stronger, but the assembly is not.

I blame advertising.

Thanks for the info. Right now my 2 options are to

1. Keep running the 105's, add Ti Retainers, and go with the lighweight pushrods.

2. Step up to the 130's, add Ti Retainers, and upgrade to the 5/16 crome moly rods (or run stock)

Seeing as I want to be able to turn up the boost I really like the 130's route but at the same time the car is a DD and typically sees only 9-10psi 99% of the time....What to do now....

Have 2 GP's
99 Grand Prix GTP, L32 Swap, TOG's, SIX cam is my 2d E85 car.
98 Grand Prix GTP Turbo, ST2, PT61, FMIC is my 4d DD

Dan, I don't own them...thinking about buying them.
Nick, Not planning on swapping out the cam anytime soon. Have a full Stattama kit on the shelf with ST4 or ST5 cam going in it...if I pull the trigger on the bigger turbo build.

On the E85 car with the SIX I've been running the 105's with Ti Retainers and have had zero issue with valve float.

With ST2 can if I never plan on turning up the boost the 105's would be good....but as soon as I want to turn up the boost the 130's are going to be a must.
