• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Let's just rename this PurpleGuy's GTO tuning endeavor

Nothing's wrong with a GT86/FRS/BRZ.

As long as you don't care to go fast in a straight line.

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

Pass. I'd rather have a C5 whether it was for a straight line or turns.

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

I'm just sayin C5>junk Subaru crap. You know what I actually want.

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

Well technically it's junk Toyota crap as the car was designed by Toyota. And I hear they are easy to LS swap, an LS only weighs about 50 lbs more than the 4 cylinder engine that comes with it.

Toyota Subaru. Still junk. And I'm not swapping ****. We already went through that. I might as well wait it out till I can afford a turbo Buick cause that's probably all I'll actually be happy with. I like the C5's and GTO's but I don't really have a huge desire for an LS car

Why not? LS motors are easy to make power with. Spend half as much money making an LS car faster than you would spend making a wbody as fast as a stock LS car.

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

2 reasons. Like I said before I don't need a racecar. I just want something that's cool to cruise and I can have fun with. Two: Cause there's so god damn many of them around. There's probably a couple dozen turbo LS's running around here. We have a big turbo LS swapped S Type Jag even. Then there's the 50 zillion head/cam cars. Know how many turbo buicks there are? 2. That I know of. Maybe a 3rd I don't know about. Turbo buicks are way more cool to me

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

Okay peoples. Check this **** out. Local guy wanted to buy the car if I put a trans in it. Maybe, maybe not. What ev. Anyway. I figured eh **** it i'll see what it does. It drove almost perfectly fine. Shifts are a little sluggish. Probably normal. I was used to max line pressure on the DHP. Didn't slam into gear one time. Didn't seem to stay locked when slowing down. Didn't throw a single trans code.

Nice!! The Purple Machine lives to see another day!?

Keep it. Drive it. Love it. ohhhh, and get rockers fixed.

Re: The Purple Car Bilsteins and other Suspension crap+Fbody's.

Maybe, not sure. It's not all gravy. It still has yet to slam into gears but it still seems like it doesn't want to unlock slowing down. However it did throw a TPS code so that could be why as the TPS has a big effect on trans shifting.

My main concern is the fact that the TCC is still buzzing when I actuate it. It doesn't click and I think that's still an issue.

But I did put about 10 miles on it today trying to get trans codes to pop up and I didn't get a single one other than the PCS which has been there for 70K miles.

Gotta love the east river salt during the winter.

So what I've learned from this is the car doesn't drive nearly as bad as it does when it throws the code. It drives relatively okay until it does. Once it throws the code, according to TEP's site, it commands max TCC lockup. That'd be why it's worse after it throws the code and feels like it slams into gear.
