Let's hear about michelin defenders

I just picked up some Michelin Primacy MXV4's (ntreftz linked to them) this past week, I'm surprised they aren't more popular. I'll have to report back on snow traction, but I got to drive them in the wet today and they impressed me. Almost impossible to break traction unless you straight floor it from a dead stop.

I can't say much about dry traction yet as I haven't pushed them since they're still being broken in, but they take bumps nicely and are quiet at highway speeds. I run higher pressures so it surprised me how well they isolate bumps.

They replaced some Goodyear Assurance Comfortred's, which had decent traction even in snow and were quiet at first. But the tread wear was just horrible, they barely lasted two years. I'm hoping for around three out of the Michelin's.

If the tires are for your wife then there's a few things I know you look for
1. "I don't want to spend a lot on tires"
2. "I don't want to buy tires every two years"
3. "I want to make sure she's safe in all climates"
4. "I want to know the tires stopping ability"

I don't like touring tires either but for what your asking for and needing those MXV4's are the way to go.

^ You nailed it man. Those four things, plus being quiet. I'll take a look at those, they seem like they may do the trick. Thanks.

lol no, that's the typical requests I would have to provide at sears when helping suggest/sell tires

mxv4's are my next tire, my 8 year old, starting to dry rot and barely any thread left michelins agility touring are the best tire ive had. yeah, wet traction sucks. yeah, they got loud. theyve been on the car for 8 years, started dry rotting last year, never cupped or got flat spots from sitting outside. michelin got their rubber compound design damn good. i considered them replacement worthy two years ago, still got them.
