Lazy shifting

Hey I have a 2007 GP GT and the last few cold days I've been having some shifting troubles. The first couple shifts will be lazy and long and when it finally shifts it sort of slams into the gear. I had planned on doing a shift kit but I want to make sure I don't have bigger problems first. It only happens between first and second. Any ideas?

Yes and no. The kit you were being referenced to was the transgo kit. Most of the parts in that kit go into the accumulator which is accessible from the pan. That kit you linked is a pull the side cover and redo the valvebody (likely need special tools) kit.

Joe..he's a bit north of us...shipping would likely be more than the kit.

That's something I'll never understand. (knock knock)
Recipient: "Eh.. hello post guy"
Postguy: "Eh.. I have this small package for you, that'll be $35 right now please"
Recipient: "Oh, I am happy to pay that, I live in Canada"

Always watch for 90-100 degree thermostat temp, km's or the use of an "u" where you wouldn't use it, like colour. Dead give aways my sheep loving buddy.

Shipping on that kit isn't too bad, only $19 but duty and customs might kill me. To buy that kit locally is $150 if you can believe it.

You probably don't want to hear that I buy it locally for $42 w/o tax? Sorry.. I have hosted meets and the amount fixes to cars etc and the 4 days in the states limits etc.. you know how that goes.

To me that's a lot, since we don't usually pay anything but what it says on the ebay page.

You say it only happens in the 1-2 shift? Never 2-3 or slow lockup? I'm no expert but it may not be pressure related if only 1 shift is affected. Could it maybe be that the 1-2 piston in the accumulator is slightly binding? Maybe the seal is torn or the bore has a groove or something? If so, when doing the shift kit, you will find out and be able to replace parts if needed at that time.

Haha I wish I could get it for $42, i would have put it in when the fluid was changed.

The transmission shop I use seems to think it could just be time for a rebuild but because it happens infrequently it's hard for them to diagnose. It didn't do it this morning. The car also has an Overkill tune with the 05 PCM.

As long as you're past 100k miles, ANY issue means it's time for a rebuilt to shops. I'm at 110k and I was getting slow shifts, and eventually banging shifts (max adapt). They would have recommended a full rebuild. A fix was 1 new PCS($32) and it should be good for another 50k miles easy.

Well I got my transgo shift kit finally and I'm going to install it this week. One question before I do, has anyone heard of matching up one of the longer spacers and using two long spacers on third and using the extra short spacer in the position on second where transgo doesn't provide a spacer?
