ok I finally came up on $1000 bucks and now im finally ready to mod so this is my last time asking about "what should I do". ok I have a 02 gp with intake,slp catback,hv3,dhp pcm,hvtb stg1.
I have a guy sellin a supposive 13 second gtp with a busted tranny for 1000,no one near me knowledgeable enough to help do a top swap lol,what do I do?
 


is that gtp a 97? If it is stay away from it.......are you considering buying that car and then putting a new tranny in it? Or are you trying to debate whether to upgrade your car NA or are you debating doing a top swap? I dont understand exactly what you are asking.........If you are considering a top swap and you dont feel you can do it, and you dont know anyone who can help you do it, and you cant afford to pay someone to do it, then I would think this option is out. Are you going to be satisfied having a GT that is pretty quick for a bolt on NA car? Or will you not be happy with it and want somthing faster? Only you can answer these questions. If you want answer these questions for us and we will help you decide or atleast make recomendations on which way to go....The SLP catback is a waste of money for actual performance gains, it may sound better, but it will not make you gain any HP.....do you have a downpipe/plog or headers yet?
 
well that's the thing I don't know where my mind is at or what I want lol,the gtp that the guy is selling it for 800 now lol but im debating if I wanna spend all my money on that and still worry bout tags and title,but no other mods on my car and how much would I spend total on a full top swap!
 
does he have a time slip to prove it is a 13 second gtp? what mods does he have done to it? what year and how many miles on the car? Is it in good shape? Is it in as good of shape or better than your gt? top swap pricing depends on how good of a deal you can find, and how much you can do yourself. I have seen if you pay someone to do it, it can cost $1500 or more

well honestly, u prob wouldnt end up spending that much if you bought a complete gtp car. i mean hell, the car will have the s/c, lim, all the wiring, and a decent computer to go with it. all you gotta do is swap over parts. cant be that difficult. course ive never actually done the swap or anything, so what the hell do i know. plus like liguifire says, if its got a bunch of mods with it thats a plus
 
=( man I jus got done lookin @ the damn gtp....definitely wasn't a 13 second car,driver's seat springs where busted the front passenger panel was dented up,the damn thing didn't even have a intake lol,but the engine looked good tho lol but its black wit faded paint(very disappointing) but he wanted 800 for it lol. should I keep saving for the top swap or should I invest in the gtp,its a 99 btw
 


does it have all the parts you need on it yet? and also, are there any good parts that you could sell to make up the difference or is that something you want to do. Since it is in poor condition you could part it out.......take all the top swap parts and keep any spare parts that you might want and sell anything else off of it that you could.......
 
sounds like $300.00 if you count 500 for the top swap.......I would try and talk him down more if the car is in that poor of condition. Make sure it runs before you buy it......put some sort of air filter on it and start it up...
 
buy my car and get it shipped to you. i guarantee the top end parts are legit. the bottom end and the tranny..not so much.
 


well from what the owner says it runs but he wasn't there,I went by to look @ the car with a mutual friend but the engine looks fine u can tell its been sitting for a while but I could part it out but I think I will talk him down on the price today,maybe I can talk that 800 to 600

it really depends on how much shipping is since i dont want to pay for the shipping, but ill let it go for $1000 plus you pay for shipping. im leaving all the parts on it, so when youre done youll have more than just a top swap. you can find the car in the for sale section if you want to check it out.
 
^^^^^^shameless self promotor.......not that I blame him. I would be doing everything I could to sell the car if I just got a new one too.
