Lambo doors on a GTP coupe?

26624d1385886552-let-s-define-what-we-think-rice-any-car-game-even-yours-lambo-doors-so-played-out.jpg

Actually, the aventador and sesto elemento both have scissor doors. There using them again...:th_thumbsup-wink:

The difference is a 100k+ exotic.. Can pull it off and I can guarantee you the hinge set up cost more then a $1000 and they have the power as well as the style to pull it off.

Dont get me wrong, lambo doors don't belong on a gtp.Just had to bust some chops.lol

I know of a guy that lost 2 fingers from when the gas strut blew on his "lambo conversion"

no warning, it just blew while he was getting in the car, took two guys to open the door and get his hand free...luckily it happened at a car show

so he paid nearly 1500$ to lose two fingers less than 6 months later

go for it....or put that 1500$ into some maint/repairs or a trans rebuild fund

ouch! I guess he didn't have the proper kits that have two struts per door, one for a back up. poor guy :/

This thread makes me smile ....keep it up boys!!! BTW for $1500 plus the fee of installation you could have a turbo kit and really impress some people. Just sayin

^__^ That cheap? haha Ill keep that in mind, im starting to move towards "Screw the doors, waste of my $" which is hard to come by for me, I would like to do these other mods instead, thanks

The only lambo I can think of that doesnt have them (from the Countach and up is the Gallardo and the Future Huracan... all the others do! :) I know people who put lambo doors on the gallardo......stupidest thing ever HA

he did. the problem is that the two is needed for heavy doors...because they split the weight...when one failed the other couldn't hold the door and it slammed closed.

if they did make a double strut design where each strut would hold the door open by itself youd have to pull downward on the door with 100+lbs of force to close it with em both fighting you.

the best design are the torsion/spring designs but those require the A pillar and firewall structure

oh, okay I see

Im not geting Lambo doors everyone :) I figure 1500$ could go towards WAY better mods as someone said I could get turbocharge kit if I wanted too. The lambo doors seem kind of not worth it. I wont even think about doing it unless I had a lot of money, even then I still dont think i would do it. I have a lot of other mod ideas in my head that I will share with Y'all in another thread. :) I appreciate everyone's opinions on this "rice or spice" matter. Seems 95% say no... Because the GTP is one of my favorite cars, I wouldnt want to do something that destroys its reputation. lolz

Live on Pontiac!

Let me explain how door hinge kits work, those are bolt on, which cost more, but the 1500$ is because of the installation price. it costs around 500 to 700$ to get it installed. so yes, around 1500$ you never buy a kit that is less than 1000$ unless you can find that kit for cheap but originally costs that much. Hope this made since haha. In short, yes it would cost around 1500$
