L36 Build

So I should do an l26 with my l36 uim and hv3. Question is now. Will a gt2 cam be good running stock stuff or will a gt1 be safe with the stock valve train?

Just quickly read through this thread. Honestly. For the money your gonna sink into a gutless L36 build or whatever NA engine you plan on putting in there...... You could just about buy another GP for that kind of $. Hell you might even be lucky enough to snag a full GTP. Like honestly man.. your wasting your time with that L36.... A full L67 swap can be found for under $750 EASILY.

You were given lot's of options on your posts on facebook, and you chose to be a little girl about what everyone had to say, leave the groups, and delete everything and alot of people. Now your on here asking about it...

really dude?

Parents think ill blow it up.. Idek. I have a 400hp+ camaro. And he has a 1,000hp camaro. But thinks im gonna die with a 250hp gp

Save your money untill your parents dont have a say, then do it right and topswap or L67-L32 swap...Or get a better ride.

Who cares if you blow it up. Blocks are cheap and and its one of those live and learn things. If its your car and you pay for mods whats stopping you. Id rather have a stock l67 with an intake and tune over a l36 with a cam, hv3 ect.

Eh. L36 NA builds are pointless. Dump 2 grand into it and still be slower than a 3.4 pulley L67 GP.

Because im going to colledge in the fall and I wont have any where to work on it if it ****s up. I need it good on Gas and reliable yet want it alittle peppy

Hell, my GTP gets better mileage than my SE.(really just cause the taller gear ratio in the GTP tranny)

Tim you do what you want, yeah it might not be worth it but its your car after all. I would keep the hv3, get a plog, tune and call it done.

So ditch doing the cam and do the series 3 l26 and freshin it up And throw her in? Drive it till im older when I get more money and can have another toy

I would because its a lot of work and money you could put into something else like handling, more lows, ect.

My dads gonna buy the l26 for me from the jy because he owns a shop and gets great deals. And im gonna buy a full engine gasket set and new head and rocker bolts. Maybe try to mod the hv3 to fit the l26 uim if possible. My dads buddy may even port and polish some things for me because I want to learn so he can teach me.

The purpose of getting an L26 is they are plentiful, this makes them cheap. If you pull off the UIM and flop your new one and HV3 on it.. put your rear exhaust manifold on, and the plog on th efront... You'd be doing good and it would be great reliable motor.

If you pull it apart.. you defeat the purpose of buying a cheap motor.
