KR Situation

Replaced the O2 with a new ACD unit and hammered the tunnel. Ran a tank of 94 octane (E15) through the car. Checked the headers for tightness. Still no misfires. Still have a lot of KR.

Suggestions please.

I have the same problem with a 3.4 I have purchased a sound deadning kit from intense that goes on the tranny and the knock sensors. I am also going to replace and re bend my tranny dipstick. I am going at the things that could false knock first I have already fliped my swaybar because it was hitting the exhaust but these motors move alot more than you might think. I have thrown alot of money at mine so dynamating the outside of the knock sensors and the top of the tranny that is next to it are my next two steps.

Sooooooo. Thinking of finding a half tank of e85 to put with half a tank of premium.

Or maybe put the stock pulley back on but I don't want to do that because the MPS hub is on there.

Hey?

Oh, and what is a round-about-guess of timing for something like my mods, before KR would likely result. If you can even average such.

I put a new ICM on mine today and it fixed the massive kr prob I had and pretty much eliminated the misfires I am still getting some false knock when I get on it hard but under hard boost I am getting a max of 3 which I am going to get tuned out

^ I was stubborn to try an ICM because I have no misfires, I didn't think it would fix it. However, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree so I should give it a go.

You can try flipping your dogbone mounts so the motor doesnt move as much. put your aeroforce on timing and KR and timing and tell us how much of each.

You can try some injector cleaner too

^ Well I don't know. That is what I want to know.
I also recommend ordering the dynamat kit for the back of the tranny if your kr is spiking like mine has its more than likely false I have taken the approach of trying to remove all possible sources of false knock before I go back and try to tune it. I think most of mine is coming from the tranny dipstick because I have already removed and fliped the sway bar and my exhaust was banging into it pretty good. that reduced some of my heavy knock readings then mine had some random misfires (that didnt cause a code) so I replaced the ICM now I am going to go in and dynamat the back of the trans and the knock sensors to try to eliminate false knock all together. Sorry for the lengthy post but as you know chasing this problem down can be time consuming and very costly lol!

yea even with my timing set at 10* i stil see 10* KR at part throttle or like trying to pass someone on the highway. I saw 14* too

Well my car will knock at 18* timing while rolling throttle on in 2nd, and oddly, it was going down to 5* timing in 4th while accelerating and knocking about 4*.
