1. If your running a smaller pulley and no other mods, not long before a piston chips and motor is junk.

2. Sure if the car is running like horse ****, otherwise a normal car wont sense any KR and pull any timing to prevent this from happening.

Its more of a thing you'll see at full throttle.
 
You can have KR everyday and have no problems as long as it's not a ton. You could possibly have KR at part throttle but that's more "false knock"
