So my girlfriend gets this frantic call from my mother asking if shes seen me, what's going on, etc...shes confused because its a normal day, i got up for work and left, etc. Well apparently, last nite, someone called my grandmother, saying that it was "your grandson" (fishing for names and agreeing with whatever one she said) and that I was in jail in canada, then "my lawyer" took the phone, listed the charges and said that 1300 bucks had to be wired over immediately to secure my release, she almost didn't say anything because she thought i was trying to keep it a secret for whatever reason, but she calls my folks, and they call me freaking out....for nothing, so there's scam's going on out there. Just wanted you all to be aware and maybe let loved ones know. (that being said, the voicemails left on my phone while i was at work were priceless)

This happened to someone I work with. His grandma got a call saying he was somewhere and was in jail and needed bail money. She wired it to him but they managed to get it stopped before anyone got the money.
 
Someone called my folks once saying they were a credit collection company asking for over 5k in money and I grabbed the phone and gave them an ear full. Well anyhow these people called the next day claiming they were immigration and had been contacted by said colllectuon company and demanded we pay them or they would come after my parents. My parents have been u.s. citizens for over 20 years so I knew it was just a scam...people will do anything for money
 


On a side note, what are some sweet mods I can get for $1,300? ;-p. Lol jk.
I've got scammed once too, company called saying they were a collection co looking to settle a debt. So I bought it trying to get rid rid of that debt. 6mnths later I get a call from a collection co trying to settle the same debt. Somethings not right........I got screwed!
 
Same kinda deal happened with me/ my old art teacher. He had an old number of mine, and when my brother passed he called me. Well, he thought it was me cause of my number, but it was an old one. But when he called he was like hey Aaron, the is Nolde, sorry about your loss. And the people kinda played it off. Then the next few days they were texting him saying hey bro is Aaron... I need 800 dollars for a kidney transplant. And bunch of other garbage. And I had Mr. Nolde on facebook and he asked me about it. Just stupid people being stupid.
