• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just Curious?

I will try to post a pic of my intake soon. Blowfish, where can i get a dhp 1.0 I know i can buy one used but will I have to get a 97 version to be problem free on my car. with Intense tune, do u think i can have them take out the dangerous part of the tune or it is open sourced so I can tune it later:th_scratchhead:. I currently Can not afford a DHP or HPT right now and I would love a overkill but i need to drive my car and from what i hear my core would need to be shipped and Will is not running on time these days.
Opinions anyone?

A DHP tune is not any more than a standard tune from overkill or any other online mail order tune and it is by far the safest. It can be ordered through 3800performance.com. It is 100$, just like the rest. you give them the VIN and the year and they set it up and mail it to you.(once you get it, you mail your stock pcm back...they charge you about $100 for the deposit of your PCM, it might be a little more for the 97's) If you buy one used you will have to get someone to reprogram your VIN into that PCM to make it work with your car. However since I just saw that you have headers already, you will probably have to get a custom tune so that you do not run too lean due to the headers. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion..Hopefully this link to a pic of my intake will work.

ive heard nothing but good things about overkill. and he will tune for your mods.

yes the intense pcm is unlocked so you can tune it later, but so is the new versions of overkill. i would go that route.

i think its 200$ up front, then he sends you a pcm and once you get it, you can send your stock one back and get 100$ back. there all like that.

that intake is fine. your more worried about moving air around in the motor and out of the motor fast. not nessicerly craming air in. if you cant get the air out fast enough, it does no good to cram air in.

but you got headers so that helps alot. next you could look at cam, rockers, or intercooler to help out air flow, controlling heat.
