Need to know about the offset on the rims between the front and back. I don't like how the backs are set in further than the front so I was wondering if I got 2 sets of the front rim and tire size and put them all the way around, if they would rub on the back? Any help would be appreciated

hmm, you could use google, but anyways.

fronts 18x8

rears 18x7

And yes you can try and find another set of fronts and just swap them on the rear, and then they will all match.

but then doesnt that go against the handling charactaristics? i thought gm's did that to help combat the ill handling effects of a high powered fwd vehicle.

racer, youre right, but your thinking is wrong.

they did it to help the car oversteer more so it didnt plow through corners as much as the regular grand prix. however, they also didnt really care that it looked retarded when they did it.

the fronts will fit on the back no problem, as well as vice-versa. many people have done the 18x8 all the way around with zero issue.

ok got it. i never disputed whether it would fit or not. i just thought it would be counterproductive

of course it would be if you were trying to track your car, but that's not exactly the problem here.

The original poster could do a search, I've posted on this subject many times.

I run 18X8 Alcoas with 255/45/18's all around, even posted pics.

I got tired of fixing everyone's **** this week at work without any effort from them, so I just don't feel like doing it now that it's the weekend. But once a little bit of research is done, I'd be more than happy to help out. :D ;)

EDIT: Front Rim 18X8 with 40 offset / Rear Rim 18X7 with 52 offset

Ok, I don't plan on racing my car, I just want the quality of looks to be nicer. Also, the convenience of being able to rotate my tires so I don't have to constantly buy new ones. Thanks for the help.

so if i went with the same size all the way around would adding a stiff rear sway bar produce the same effect as the wheel/ tire size difference?

thanks for the link, but i think i missed the part about the sway bar possibly correcting the understeer.

I drive my GXP roughly 50 or 75 miles per week going back and forth to work and picking my daughter up from school, I have no need for more stability on mine:th_boring:. I never have weight in the back of my car, etc so the 18X8's with stock rubber work just fine for my needs.

Someone else will need to answer this, sorry.
