Junk I drive

Today I swapped a (old) wheel / tire from the GTP onto the GT. It was about to be showing belts. Now it wears three torque stars. My folks rolled past 180K miles in it since I got in it last. They sure like it so I reckon they can have it. Feels scumbaggy giving my folks such a crap car though. Wish I could give them the GTP instead. Maybe later.

The center caps on the GTP have not come loose yet.

The 69 GP is probably already in hibernation. Cold outside.

At about 243K now, and the 69 just rolled another thou. Did elbows yesterday, Dremel tool with wire wheel is the way to go on that. Washed it today, did first mow then burnouts in the loud one. Still getting a big enjoy off my wheels every time I walk up to the GTP. My thread was rotting so-

I had a couple knock-down drag-out fisticuffs with my GTP's dadgum sunroof shade lately. Seriously. It got stuck at a couple wrong moments that P'd me O. Last time, yesterday, I did the grip and yank and threw the sum***** in the floor then went about my business less angry. Right now I'm "fixing" it while theres time and inclination. It isn't supposed to be able to come out like that, I cracked the bejeepers out of it. Seems like the deteriorating upholstery fabric got in the way and started the whole thing. Looking around the house for a little piece of angled alum or something to attach over the broken area at the handle. I'll get it working right I think.

Anybody else ever gotten frustrated with those sunroof shades? Out of the 3 I've had, the only one that worked right was the one I destroyed and junked.

Aww. Concern for my dirty junk, lol. Think I washed it once this year. Its tree pollen and I was parked facing Oklahoma so all the trees are bent thisaway. Mighty breezy today. Got me some 0000 steel wool while I was out, for the GTP windows. Clearcoat overspray from the shop like a muff hugger on em.

thats a lot of pollen. ive had 000- steel wool sitting in my trunk for like months now, just to clean my windshield, aint had the motivation yet lol

You a brave man working with 000. I just did my windshield and driver's side door, thats what was bugging me. I may pass wool out at work as a hint. Grape will prolly get rained on next day or so but man its nasty. Not having any luck posting pics to this forum with the new phone. Age sux but I'll figure it out.

I think my A/C clutch hub is going bad because theres a new noise after driving through some high water and the sound seems to come from there. It is equally noisy with air on or off. Is there a way to check it and do I need anything special to replace it?

Take the belt of and spin the hub. If it's noisy or loose you need a new bearing. I bought a bearing, but found my clutch was actually the bad part. It was noisy with the AC off.

You do need special tools to take it apart. It can be done in the car, just have to take off the splash shield. You need an ac clutch tool.

This one worked great for me

I paid $25 for that years ago on Amazon

You may also need snap ring pliers. Also the nut has to be removed with an impact tool of some sort, or else you need the clutch holder tool.

If you're lucky enough with forum search, I made a post in what did you do to your car today. The old one. Certain key words may bring it up. I had pictures of it

Thanks for the reply, Blue. I'll hunt for that post since I got blazing interwebz back. Other web stuff I found on it is kinda generic. Have not taken belts loose to pinpoint yet, maybe today. It's not very loud and the noise is consistent so far. I reckon I'm lucky that's all that went south during the swim.
