• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Junk I drive

Jared you don't want rails anyway... I finally figured out what their purpose must be- if you're old, they make it easy to find your car in a parking lot. Because you don't remember where you parked. LOL, thats the only reason I can see for them. My old moldings were getting crackly and I had these rails so on they went.

Heck I've only had them on for a month or two and plan to install the other 40th package stuffs in the future. So no, thanks! FWIW theres fifty in paint work alone on those and its just Duplicolor on top.

Hey, it was worth a shot :th_thumbsup-wink:.

The reason I want them is 1. They are highly desirable 2. I think they make the car look a lot better, especially on a car color that compliments black (like mine) 3. Because I want them looooool.

The 69 may be well over two tons but not due to creature features thats for sure. The 99s are juuust enough car to take hard hits, while being a nice looking two-door with all the features I want and more. I got it right, its just me so all I need is a GP!

An older Bonne will be north of two tons as well. although Matt is a 2 door guy and .... I could see him in a Riviera. Older Rivs are awesome

I was looking at Rivs when I went GP (FWD that is). Too uncommon around here, all crap plus they have plenty of issues. Paint is garbage, GPs have damn good OE paint. Saw a real good lookin 65 Riv yesterday for sale, dark red. Looks nice. The 430 would be a learning curve again though, I've only had one Buick V8 but theres Ponch 400 parts ricked up like cordwood at my house. Well almost like that lol

I really almost got it again today from a left turner. Could not have missed by more than 6". Would have been the same angle I got if from in January. I was close to home and I guess it freaked me out so much I forgot to turn off the dash cam so footage is lost. I would have had it though. Wasn't going fast but still... I kinda worry because I don't even get angry any more, somebody wrecking my pride and joy every time its nice is just a required part of life now.

parents had a early 70's riv when i was a kid. its one that you dont forget.

was even this color. im sure i could find a real pic of it somewhere in the pic collection here.

Maaan, a boat-tail. Even better than the box 60s kind. Guy I got my 455 from also has a black 73, loaded. Thats a car. Not a Glorious Pontiac but still ah. A couple others I liked as a kid... friends' mom's cars... 2nd gen Cougar XR7 w/351, 1st gen Grand Am w/400. My folks were kinda not car people but Dad got 3 new Tempests in a row and that part stuck on me (the 66 did). I want one. This one is a later year but almost even better to me for driving. I could get it for a song. Very unfortunately, and this is where I got my current GTP (top secret)... the brakes were bad and when he brought it into his yard he had to stop it with a tree. I'd still do her!

Why don't you snag something like that and slowly but surely work your body guy magic on it for me and Scotty. We'd happily drive a fully restored one for ya to keep it ... uh exercised!

If you two dug all the change out of your consoles, thats probably more than I get for a year where I'm at. Thats why. Send or spec a body, send many large checks. Simple! You could also come pick up the GT I have and make it run deep tens for me, free. Wouldn't get you a cool car though.

I could have done that with the parts I had laying around at the other house. Bummer you didn't mention it sooner.

You know.. we could send you console change on a regular basis if you did the work. Let's admit that you are an amazing body guy and the other thread never ceases to amaze me.

Oh, you're serious... I wasn't, about the GT. I need that like a hole in the head with it running tens. The 69 might do that with mostly the current hardware, done right. Really dunno what you have in mind, Bill. I've got GPs but you two don't like those... and I only do this stuff at work, none at home. No after hours shop access, nothing. GTP lives in my tiny oil change garage. Be glad to coach you-uns on bodywork though. That being said...

If your combined console change plus piggy banks dumped into a pile about the size of top book value on a stock 97-03 GTP coupe for example, what car body would be your first pick?

If you're bored and are here to learn about good Grand Prixs this article is full of info.

My car seems to be oddball because it has the "highway package" option which means bench seat, column shift and glovebox in dash.

Dare you to find a pic of another column shifted 69 GP!

Heres the original trim, colors and dinky 14" wheels that were on mine. They had a crazy vinyl top. Never checked out the 72 parts car really, except to see if engine and body match. I think it was brown.

Finally finished tire swappin on the GT. There was a smashed rim and cut tire on the left front. It held air and had lots of tread but started getting wobbly so now its a spare. Put an Altimax HP with decent tread on my other good original wheel which had a leaker on it. No ugly sketchy wheel and wavy cut sidewall tire now.

Fuel filter appeared to be leaking at the seam, on the 69GP. Found a chromy MrGasket one up at Slow Reilly's. Maybe it will start faster cold now.
