• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Jrb1027's Blue Beast

I think ive finally got all the problems hammered out took my header off today and had the hole welded that the starter wire put in it, installed a wide band aswell its a bit rich

I spoke too soon I locked the motor up tonight I think a bearing went but I'll find out soon hopefully the heads aren't damaged I'll be buying a short lock soon if anyone has a good lead

Selliot this car will never be partet out lmao, but yep she gone, I'm not too upset about it I had suspicions the bottom end was weak time it does have 140k

UPDATE: So it has been about a year since I locked up my engine. Shortly after the I blew the engine I started a job as a mechanic. I haven't done much with the grand prix over the past year but am getting back on it soon. Being a mechanic brings many resources to the table like more access to cheaper parts, and a shop with lift to work on my car. However, being a mechanic also means ive been working on cars all day so when im done i dont feel like working on my own vehicles. I have decided I cannot delay this engine build any longer. So, I am planning to get a junkyard motor Monday for 450$ its from a 01 regal and the mileage is unknown but they claim it is over 150K. Does anyone think its a bad Idea to buy such high mileage engine. If so what would be a safe mileage I only need the the bottom end. Ill be using my heads and cam if possible. Reminder- this engine build is xp cam ported heads supporting mods for 130#springs, gen 5, intercooler, e85, and tep trans. Ill be updating as soon as I get the new engine. Ill be attempting the engine assembly myself. This will be my first engine rebuild so ill be doing plenty of research. I have a clean place to do it and, might have to buy some more tools tho.
