JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- It brokeded

Will need new tires. Unsure if they'll bolt on directly. Pretty sure the bolt pattern bolts up to ours, unsure if the hub will be an issue though. Not too knowledgeable when it comes to wheels

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- It brokeded

5x114.3 which is close enough to our 5x115, you can run hub centric spacers if y I u choose. There's a reason everybody runs Saleen or those damn bullitts they fit

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- It brokeded

I figured they'd fit as much. Sucks not being able to see how they look on a grand prix to know if i'll like em before purchasing. Specially since the car isn't lowered.

Yup 2001 Cobra SVT wheels they would look bad ass on the blue and they have a nice offset similar to pregens.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- It brokeded

Well haven't done a whole lot since the last update. Cars running so thats a good thing. Still need to get a WB gauge and have hopefully get it up to Josh come spring to tune it. Probably will need to get a cat to pass emissions coming up. Sad to say I miss the sparkling silver torque stars....if only they had the offset of the pregens.

Them pregens look fvckingfapfapfaptastic on there!

I love this car.

Backing car up, misfires, dies. No movement in the cave covers, sounds like the timing chain went again. Honestly what can cause a timing chain to break this often? It has happened twice since the rebuild in August. Never snapped a chain until the rebuild either...

Can not say, the shop who rebuilt the engine has been doing all internal work so far. My guess would be a crap brand if it keeps breaking. I'm going to ask and tell them to use another brand cause this is crap.

That's odd. Could be.
The issue I ran into when I did my first cam was the timing chain.
Too many knock off brands from the local auto stores and then the best one I found was made by cloyes

Got a OEM one by Morse sitting here from the l26... Almost brand new

Cloyes is GM's supplier.
make damn sure the damper is the solid gray shoe and not the one with a visible plastic "flow" lines

the ****ty one looks like someone dumped clitter glitter into a muddy river. the good one is a solid uniform graywith only the hint of a injection flow path

Those were the ones i had when the cam was originally installed years ago. So I'm unsure what the shops been using. Just a headache having to get it towed and them tearing into it. Hopefully I won't have the car once this 3 year warranty is up, but there's nothing in my price range I'd want to replace it with lmfao

Yea they said they use cloyes when i asked which brand. Dampener unknown. I wonder if somehow the chain got extra/slack in tension if the sprockets weren't aligned for whatever reason...I'm stumped how it could've happened.
