jb weld heat tolerance?

so i had my pacesetters tack welded and thats coming back to bite me in the arse. i didnt expect to ever have to replace my motor though after rebuilding it... i ended up using a grinding stone to get it off since a hammer and chisel wasnt working and i couldnt fit a cutting wheel into the space. i ended up grinding a little too much off. the pipe is still sealed but it is thinned now. i was wondering if i could just put in some jb weld to fill it in. would it hold up to the heat? its located on the back end of the crossover pipe entering the down pipe.
 


Don't use JB Weld. They make a special kind of stuff for exhaust. Can't remember what its called but I used it to seal an EGR tube on a Fiero once. Looked like liquid glitter and was good for 2000 degrees or so.
 
There might be some better stuff out there. Jb won't hurt if it doesn't work. Just give it AT LEAST 24 hours to set.
 


tho only problem I see is the jb wel not having enough to grab onto its like putting a bandaid on a leaking water pipe, if I did it I would go all the way around that section of the header with it to give it more strength

sounds like liquid magic. ill look into that stuff. like i said, the exhaust is still sealed. just wanted to make sure it stayed that way
 


I used it to fix the a crack in the exhaust manifold on my 78 plymouth volare after I ground the crack a little wider and it worked awesome.
