• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Is there a threshold in modding where spark plug gap should be reduced from factory ?

Yes, at some point there is a need to reduce the gap because it can be blown out.

You'd be at a pretty high power level to be needing to run anything under a .050 to .055 gap.

Roughly around the point where the supercharger turns into a turbocharger.

Or you're running a nasty blower setup/nitrous and need to close the gap some to prevent blowout.

Light mods no need to mess with gap at all.

What gap would you guys recommend for a build with XP Cam, Double Roller, Stage 2 ported heads, Gen v, 3.0 pulley, SD Headers, lQ4 MAF, FS I/C?

i wouldnt recommend it to anyone to be like me, but when i was running smaller pulleys i just gapped it at 0.045" and stopped caring.

close the gap if you start to misfire or lean it back out until it stops misfiring.

I run down to a 025 gap on the cheapo plugs to keep my turbo setup happy, so you can do it if you want.. it doesnt really hurt.
