Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Is a comp g worth it?

3.8 is leaps and bounds cheaper to mod then the gxp's...and the whole car is cheaper..with the same interior outside of all the chrome nonesense

Kinda like my comp g.

Nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about when I ask for FE3 struts. I haven't seen any specific struts for the Comp G package either. Supposedly FE3 is the same strut as a standard grand prix with different valving. Again, I can't find the exact replacement part. So I have no idea how you get to $2k in suspension replacement...*shrug*

I think everybody pretty much covered it though. Oh yea...the leather option is more of a pleather option.

Basically....if braking power is derived from friction and pressure from the piston head, to what extent does a larger caliper help/hurt the situation?

larger pad, last longer, more heat capacity, more pots, more even distribution of force.

Something like that.

GMPP Koni's which have been discontinued... Not cheap.

Koni's never came on a Comp G, just GM replica's of Bilsteins

Ha, who told you they came with koni's?

Best strut on a factory car is a Bilstein. GXP's only.

Koni > Bilstein > Tokico > KYB > * > Monroe

Bilsteins were the Fe4 suspension (GXP)

Konis were Fe3 (Comp-G)

Unless I'm mistaken...

You are. KYB GR-2s are worth while replacements for our cars and run the price of normal suspension parts.

Comp G's are really running the same price of a GTP now a days, I say they are worth it. ESP is a nice feature, I've engaged it several times.

CompG's nice for the fancy turning and braking. Could save your life. And the fancy gear ratio. If you get one with low enough mileage, you can enjoy the slightly lower stock suspension, too. And... think there's a slight difference in the sway bars. 17" stock wheel and slightly nicer factory tires.

Using tapshift to downshift to avoid crashing into a deer is annoying - just an extra step, half a second that could save your life. The extra few bucks for a tapshift trans is also a pity. You'll also have to replace the LIM gasket, because it's not aluminum.

I vote GXP and then you can laugh at the Comp-g guys.... Just sayin brah.
Or even better!!!! Buy a Trans am, then you can modz to your hearts content and still blow the hell out of any GP :th_jester:
