Installing ssc springs

How hard would this be to do myself with basic tools and never doing it before.

I'm looking to lower my car and just run my current struts.

I was thinking ssc springs. Would I need to get anything else if I use current struts ?
 


IMO if you are already going to have everything off, replace the struts and strut mounts with springs all at once. This will save you time, and money at a later time. Especially if you are going with lowering springs. Your current struts will degrade very quickly as they are not designed for them. But to answer your original questions, it is pretty simple as long as you have someone to help you. Rent a strut spring compressor tool as you will need one. The only thing you would probably be is eccentric camber bolts or you can just slot the struts.
 
Did it by myself and took my time. Did a lot of reading beforehand to cover my bases. I didn't want to deal with the hurry part of rentals so I bought a nice set of spring compressors from Amazon. I already had a compressor, so I bought an impact wrench for the strut nut. Got the SSCs from CanuckMotorsports and some anti-pogos from the W-Body store.

It all worked out smooth as glass.
 
Not hard at all. Follow the write-up.

I put SSC springs on in an afternoon.

Went to Advance, and rented a 2 piece outside spring compressor. Used 2 boxed wrenches and way too much time. An impact would have made life far easier. Took about 5 hours all together.
 
getting them on/off the car is more annoying than assembling struts. impact helps but it took me 60 minutes with my dad to take apart and reassemble all the struts w/o a impact.
