Installed retrofits & DRL delete. Help..

Car is a 2000 GTP. Installed a set of retrofits with Halos this weekend.

1.) First thing I did was disabled the key flash when locking. Pulled Map PGM fuse, Key back to ACC, pressed lock until it only chimed once. Voila! no more key flash.

2.) Disabled DRLS. Opened drivers side access panel in dash. Pulled the plug on the heatsink. No chirping or daytime running lights. Huh this was easy.

Wired the lights into place. I tapped into the side marker power for my halos.

During the day and the headlight switch to off nothing comes on. Perfect
Turning it to the Park lights I get my halos and sidemarkers. Perfect
Turning to headlights I get sidemarkers, halos, and headlights. again perfect.

When it is dark out It senses properly and headlights/halos/sidemarkers all come on. This was too easy.....

Now for the issue. The DIC and radio lighting is extremely dark during daylight hours regardless of which position I put the headlight switch. I cant make out a word on the DIC and the time is almost non existent on the radio (Factory). At night I can see the radio and DIC perfectly.

What did I do wrong? The brightness dial is turned all the way up as well.

Thoughts? I tried searching believe me. lets just say it hasn't been a very productive work day! Lol

One other point... Highbeams will not work at all. I flash them on and the lights just turn off?

97-00 cars you only pull the DRL fuse in the glove box, leave the heatsink dealio plugged in.

But then you will not have auto lights, which was 100% okay with me. All my dash lights and info center stuff stayed lit up like normal too.

Ok perfect thank you. I'll try that when I get home. Auto lights is not an issue to me.
Any advice on the No Highbeam scenario?

HIDs are H1 bulbs

I have no idea about the solenoid. I will contact the member I purchased off.

As far as I know, HIDs require some sort of harness, or solenoid to work both hi and low beams. Like mine, have a single harness to get reference from, then goes to each individual ballast.

Sorry for the triple post. Copy and paste from my phone isn't the easiest.

That's the setup I currently have. 35w ballasts. Yeah I know it's not the pricey TRFS branded stuff, but it all works. If it fails in a year I'll splurge on name brand because I know my setup was actually working.

Anyway, is there anything in that setup that would cause the high beams to not work? Somedude I see that link and would love to click buy now if that solves my issue. But the relay I bought says hi/low. I'm worried it's the bulbs that aren't capable.

Projectors are mini gattling from TRFS Along with the halos.

So the harness I have installed is no good for the Hi/low?
I didn't see where you said you had a harness. What do you have? I've been told that you can make an HID harness work with some modifications, but I messed with mine and had more issues than solutions. I have the 9007 harness from TRS; not installed yet but did a test fit and works like a charm.

The HID harness has a switching relay and turns off the lo's when the hi's are applied. The TRS harness is designed for projectors and keeps hi's and lo's on together, which is what we want.

Sounds good. I will order it up.

Thanks for the link on the DRL and auto on lights. Appreciate the feedback. This community is outstanding.
