Inner tie rod replacement





Hey I'm having some problems with the outer tie rod I took out the pin took off the castle nut but the outer tie rod won't come out ?? I been banging on it for about half an hour any suggestions?
 
turn the wheels so the tie rod is facing out, you'll see that flat squared off part, its like 2 inches wide, hit that part hard. the tie rod should pop out.

how big a hammer you using? a baby sledge like a 5 lb'er works real nice, a roofing/framing hammer will take a much harder hit to break it free cause its lighter.
 


Yeah there shouldn't be anything in those rack boots if there is fluid in there you need a new rack just got mine replaced yesterday.. Don't go with cardone they are junk last year was replaced twice and just had replaced but has a different brand now.

So wht did u replace it with..last I heard cardone was the go to for replacement obviously unless you went with oem.
 
I didnt do it myself, I know somebody that has a shop and she had one that was new so I dropped the car and picked it up fixed.
 
Not sure took it to the dealership and they replaced but the guy where they get parts from told me that they dropped them because so many steering issues from there parts
