you also need a 1/2 drive breaker bar or ratchet, the tool needs one and dont come with it.
you have to pop the outer tie rod, break the lock nut free first, then> ( take the castle nut and cotter pin off, then hit the flat part of the knuckle with a hammer till the tie rod pops free) put some tape where the lock nut is in the threaded bar, aka inner tie rod. then you need to clip the metal band off the boot, and pull the boot off, then slide the tool over the tie rod end to the nut at the end.
take the new and old inner rods, move the tape mark to the new one. you'll need an alignment when your done, but this tape trick keeps you in the ball park.
theres a metal tube connecting the two boots, make sure its back in place when the boot goes back on, i used zip ties to secure the boot. but i hear they sell them metal clamps you need to cut off.
