Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I'm new to this

If it starts with starting fluid you aren't getting gas. Your fuel pump could be bad or clogged fuel filter.

The fuel pump is working. It sends enough gas up to the motor, could it be the fuel injectors because when he showed me that the car was only starting with starting fluid. He started it again and held the gas pedal and it ran but as soon as he let go of the gas it stopped. Or can it be just some bad wiring?

get a fuel pressure tester, and test the fuel pressure at that fat valve on the fuel rail.

when you first turn the key to run, (dont start it, just turn to run) can your hear the pump prime? have some one in the trunk to listen for it, it will hum for about 3 to 5 seconds.

scottydoggs the fuel pump primes and yes I can hear it. I'm going to him to test the fuel pressure.
thanks

could be a really clogged filter as well.

will it stay running after it starts with starting fluid?

or does it start and stall, like it ran out of starting fluid to run on.

take a rag, put it over the big valve on the fuel rail, push the center of it with a screw driver, if you have any pressure, gas will shoot out, fast. the rag is to keep it from getting in your eyes. inside the valve looks like a air valve on your tires, but larger.

that's exactly what I meant when I was talking about the car getting enough gas up front to the motor. That fuel rail valve you were talking about when you press to see if there's fuel. Yeah there is and a lot. It's getting a spark but won't crank over.

checked all your fuses? under the hood and in the car?

seams like your injectors are not firing at all.

you can take off a injector plug, use a test light to see if it flashes, or stick a side marker bulb im told works, right into the injector plug, and if it flashes its getting power. (push the metal clip in on the plug, and wiggle and pull up to take the plug off the injector)

it should flash when you first turn the key to run, and then after its running it should flash. 2 person job maybe.

Pull the upper intake manifold off. Take the couple of bolts out holding the fuel rail in and pull them out. Spray some wd40 or pb blaster around them before you try pulling them out. I've had some pretty stubborn ones.

Has the Idle Air Control Valve been checked? If you've got fuel and spark (which I take it from the conversation so far you do) then the only thing missing is oxygen. The throttle plate is closed when starting so the IAC meters air into the engine so it can fire up.

mystic231 i'm definitely get the IAC checked because before the car finally wouldn't start, when driving and having to stop at red lights. The car would idle real low then cut off. But I am also going to check the fuel injectors too, just to make sure that their not clogged. Just to be safe and eliminate that for the check areas

I took out the IAC valve and cleaned it With some carb & fuel injection cleaner by hand just to get off the carbon build up. The car started I let it run for about 10 - 15 minutes to let the engine warm up. That was the good news, but the RPM gauge and the speed odometer was not working. After I turned off the car it wouldn't start again, so basically I need to buy a new IAC valve and replace it?
