• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I'm at a complete loss..

I've got a code, P0053 HO2S Heater Resistance Bank 1 Sensor 1, I checked all the wiring and fuses and decided WTH the car has 104k on it I'll just replace the upstream O2 sensor. I did that yesterday and the code came back today. I got this code after I installed my overkill pcm 2 weeks ago. I think it might be the pcm but I found this, http://www.gpona.com/forums/04-08-grand-prix-discussion-f19/p0053-t25763.html.

The post says:

This was in the SM (under Document ID 1285788)

Heated Oxygen Sensor Resistance Learn Reset Notice

Notice: When replacing the HO2S perform the following:
• A code clear with a scan tool, regardless of whether or not a DTC is set
• HO2S heater resistance learn reset with a scan tool, where available
Perform the above in order to reset the HO2S resistance learned value and avoid possible HO2S failure.

I do NOT trust going to the dealer to do this because I'm afraid they'll re-flash my overkill pcm with stock tables. Is there anyone who might be willing to help me with this??

if you have the old pcm, aka stock. put it in, it will just work like it used to. same as the new pcm, it will work again when you put it in.

I know it's been awhile but I've been real busy lately. I just put the stock pcm in tonight and drove the car around. Seems ok but I'll have to drive it some more just to make sure the P0053 doesn't come back.

I lost Cruise Control immediately after I put the Overkill PCM in and now with the stock PCM back in CC still doesn't work! WTF? Does swapping PCMs have something to do with this?

The BCM won't control anything related to engine codes. (from chat)

Double check the cruise control fuse and make sure all bulbs work in the 3rd brake light.

I'll double check the CC fuse. All the bulbs in the 3rd brake light? No ****. I'll look into that as well. I've been looking at schematics to see if any wires for the o2 sensor and CC are shared but it doesn't seem to be according to alldata

All the bulbs work in the 3rd brake light and I triple checked the CC fuse. I put a new 2 amp fuse in anyways but no luck. I'll look at some more schematics and if I don't figure it out, I might just try to contact Billboost and hopefully he can look at it since he's not far from me.

So far the P0053 code has not come back after 70 miles so I'm sure that codes related to the Overkill I'm sending back later this week

I've got 1 code for the CC after I installed the Overkill PCM. It was P0564 [h=2]Cruise Control Switch Circuit Malfunction[/h]but I've never been able to duplicate it.
This is all I got for schematics. Pretty much useless.
