• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I'm a Noob and need injector help please!!

Ok so I bought a 2000 gtp last night ran good on the hour and a half drive home went out this morning to start it and it started running really rough so I went to work and when I got back I started it and it was running perfect so I went ahead and put new plugs wires and fuel filter and also added a cold air intake..
Then it started doing it again after driving it for a while so I scanned it and it shows cylinder 3 injector circuit open. And cylinder 3 misfire so could you guys help please

And if I do need a new injector should I buy a whole set of aftermarkets or just buy one new stock one??

Check the wiring to that injector.
With the key on the +12 volt wire should be hot for all injectors.
Swap injectors - #3 with #5 or #1 and see if the DTC follows.
If DTC follows then replace the injector.
If you still have an open circuit on #3 then there's a problem with wiring or PCM.

Other things you could try with the injector in hand:
Check the resistance across the two injector leads. It should be about 13 ohms or something.
OL or infinite resistance means the coil is open (open circuit).
Take a 12 volt power supply and connect it to the injector. Situate the wires before turning the power on.
It should make a "click" sound.
No "click" means the coil is open (open circuit).

Thank you I will go try all those things the thing that is weird to me is it'll run fine for a while and then crappy for a while and vise versa if it is the computer how much will that set me back?

Circuit open means its unplugged usually.
You are right on the money went out this morning and pulled the plastic cover off the motor. I noticed when I wiggled the injector plug one way it smoothed out so I pulled it off and cleaned it up and put some dielectric grease in it and shes running awesome now

I had an injector missing on my GTP just last week. Go to a shop or if you know a mechanic that has a computer that reads codes, like a Tech2?? I think that's what they are called, or something like that, but you can hook it up to the wiring in your car and get a reading, also, take off the supercharger cover and unplug the wires that lead to the 3 missing injectors, the white, plastic plugins could be oozing fuel back up into the outlet, which is a sign that it's the injectors. My car was running sporadically too, it was an easy fix though.
